I started reading this book with some skepticism. The author had somehow found my email and had requested a review. Normally, I wouldn’t have accepted, but it just so happened I was interested in publishing through Kindle, and I might have ended up reading the book even if Mr. Corson-Knowles hadn’t contacted me. This book does everything right. It caught my interest from the very first paragraph. I wasn’t expecting to find new or even particularly useful information, but I was pleasantly surprise I started reading this book with some skepticism. Normally, I wouldn’t have accepted, but it just so happened I was interested in publishing through Kindle, and I might have ended up reading the book even if Mr. Corson-Knowles hadn’t contacted me. This book does everything right. It caught my interest from the very first paragraph. I wasn’t expecting to find new or even particularly useful information, but I was pleasantly surprised. To say this book is current would be a major understatement. There’s a reference to a change that took place in publishing for the Kindle in January 16, 2013! The KINDLE PUBLISHING BIBLE is short and packed with practical, very easy to follow how-to advice from beginning to end. There are also plenty of very useful links. One of my favorites is a link on how to use the special HTML code for Amazon. The following is a list of information I found particularly valuable. It’s basically a table of contents of the entire book: How to use tags in Amazon How to write a good book description How to come up with a great title How to handle negative reviews How to estimate sales rankings and use the estimate to select an optimum category How to get Kindle book sales through Amazon.co.uk How to do the 5-day free promotion offered by Kindle How to have a great pre-launch strategy How do to press releases How to get book reviews I know for a fact the last method works because here I am, on a Saturday morning, writing a review for Tom Corson-Knowles’ book, and I'd never heard of the guy before he sent me that email. I wasn't following him on Twitter, and he wasn't my friend on Facebook, or in any of my Google+ circles. When he contacted me, I checked out his book on Amazon, and decided to give it a try. It was as simple as that. Other tips and information I found fascinating: Write 10 books! The more books you write, the more likely you’ll be a success (I’ve heard this one before, but here again, the author is talking from direct experience, so the information is that much more believable.) Amazon has a separate sales raking for free books and for paid books (I was always wondering about that.) Always finish mid-sentence, so it's easier to resume writing. The Kindle Category choice is critical to your book sales. Kindle only allows two categories. More cool links: Free Kindle book promotion sites Tweeters who promote Kindle books Free site listings Some of the suggestions, such how to get on the top 10 in a category, sound too easy. That said, I haven’t yet applied any of what I’ve learned from THE KINDLE PUBLISHING BIBLE, and so until I give it a try, I can’t comment other than to say it seems too good to be true. If this book does half of what it claims it can do, then it’s definitely a game changer for me. I highly recommend THE KINDLE PUBLISHING BIBLE to anyone considering any kind of independent publishing, but for Kindle publishing, this book is an absolute must-read.

“The Kindle Publishing Bible: How To Sell More Kindle Ebooks On Amazon” by Tom Corson-Knowles is one of the many new books on how to sell and make money on Kindle. I don't know if I'd really call it a “Bible” because when I think of Bibles I think of big complete books that cover just about everything. I don't think this book fits that bill. However, I do think the book provides some very good advice and strategies for those wanting to publish on amazon for Kindle readers. Especially if you are just starting out. It won't be the only book you'll want to read to help you with this, but it is not a bad one to include in your writing for Kindle library. I didn't care for the secretiveness of the “Elite Kindle Society” or the “ethical” parts in the first part titled “Why I Wrote This Book” that much. Just seemed like marketing ploy. But, hey, I understand that, so it was not that big a deal. The rest of the book is divided into eleven chapters. I feel these give some very good advice. Some of which I'd read or heard elsewhere, and some that I hadn't. I do plan on reading this book again and using it as a reference as I write more and make my books available to Kindle readers. The topics the author covers in the chapters are: How To Chose Your Best-Selling Book Title; How To Master Kindle Categories To Sell More Books; How To Sell More Books Using The Right Keywords and Tags; Designing A Best-Selling Book Cover; Writing Your Book Description; how To Get More Reviews (The Ethical Way) And How To Handle Bad Reviews; Calculating Kindle Sales Estimates; What You Need To Know About International Kindle Sales; Writing More Books, A Guaranteed Way To Sell More Kindle Books!; KDP Free Promotion Launch Formula; and Writing Productivity Tips, Strategies and Resources. As you can see, the author covers a number of topics related to selling Kindle books. Some of the information is pretty basic, but other tips are things you won't know unless someone who's done it tells you. I've been sent a number of books on making money selling Kindle books and a number of them were so terrible that I just deleted the file and told the person I couldn't write a review. When Corson-Knowles asked to send me a review copy of this one, I figured why not. I'm glad he did, because as you can see, this book did contain some good stuff and didn't go straight to my trash. At the end, he even provides a link to his youtube channel and some motivational videos. He also lists his other books, so he is doing what he writes about. I'd recommend this book to anyone wanting to get into writing for the Kindle market, especially if you are new to the game.

I’ve read a few of these books on how to market on Amazon. Before I read this book I struggled with some of the techniques the author recommends. In that way, very few of the suggestions in this book are new: title, keywords, tags, description, cover, reviews… Of course I know I need these for successful marketing. What this book offers, hands down, is superior step-by-step guidance on how to get there, including giving some excellent websites that offer assistance. I may skim some of the other books on marketing on Amazon that are hanging out on my shelves just to make sure that they don’t offer something this one missed. If they don’t, they’ll get archived. This one is staying in Favorites. It’s now my go-to bible on how to get things done. In the interest of full disclosure, I was offered a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was halfway through this one when I purchased another one of the author’s books that hadn’t even received reviews yet, and that’s something I’ve never done before.

Without the excerpt from the author's other book "The Kindle Publishing Bible," it's a real short book, and so you can learn the key MS Word skills for formatting Kindle ebooks in a very short time. You definitely don't have to read the excerpt part if you've already read the book. All in all it's a helpful book, and the author asks the readers for honest reviews believing, whether we like or hate the read, our honest comments will help him write better books; I think the author has good intentions.

This is a great starting point for anyone interested in publishing on the Amazon platform. It is full of useful information on many aspects of the publishing journey. I also found the insights into the writing process of value, especially on the subject of finding the right title for your book. Since I've been studying book marketing in earnest for the last few years, I already knew much of what's in this book. However, for Kindle authors who know very little about marketing, this book would make a good start. I would definitely recommend going deeper, though. Check out books by Tim Grahl and Rayne Hall, too. Since I've been studying book marketing in earnest for the last few years, I already knew much of what's in this book. This book has a few good tips. But I am very glad I picked it up for free. There isn’t anything in here that a good google search wouldn’t find. It is misleading in its title. Only 50 pages of content that barely scratches the surface of kindle publishing.

Precisely because it was written by someone who doesn't do this professionally, I'd guess, but is putting down how THEY have figured out how to do things. I've been publishing Kindle books for more than a year now. Trust me, if you follow the steps in this book, you'll save yourself a lot of grief. You may want to modify the formatting for your own needs (for instance, the books I publish have a TON of very big photo files so the simple way of inserting them described in this book isn't the best for me) but this is a great starting point and basic method. This book was helpful as a first time author/publisher on the Kindle platform. The author had some helpful tips around using social media for marketing. As for the quality of the book, it felt like much of the material was cut and paste and when you got to the real meat of the content, you had to access a link to the author's website. This was couched as a way to keep you in touch with his latest recommendations, but I saw it as a way to avoid updating the book as information changed.
