I really liked these books when I was a kid. I had almost every single one. I thought they were funny. They were still kinda funny but now that I’m an adult I kinda just see junie b as a bratty kid lol I’d kill her if she was mine.

Listened to these (books 1-4) with my kids and they loved Junie. As a parent, I wasn’t thrilled at her behavior, but took the opportunity to have a lot of good discussions about good and bad behavior throughout the book. My kids laughed throughout and thought Junie was very funny. Because my kids loved them so much, I’d recommend, with the caveat that as a parent you gotta take the time to point out the good and bad choices and behaviors.

Junie B. is such a brat and an all around unpleasant and selfish little girl. Ugh, ugh, ugh.

We have these books and have also listened to the audiobooks read by Lana Quintal (who does a fantastic job reading them). We enjoy all the books and continue to collect them. I know there is a lot of controversy over Junie B.'s sassy crazy, sometimes overly naughty behavior, but to be blatantly honest, I can remember being that age and thinking very similar things. I may or may not have acted on as many of those crazy impulses, but I can remember thinking them. As other people have written in reviews, these are also great learning times to talk about how her behavior was crazy and the consequences and why we shouldn't act certain ways. But really, they are just fun to read and listen to and enjoy some lighthearted humor.

I read these books out loud to my 6 year old and he loved them. Honestly, my 9 year old listens in, too, and they both think they are hilarious. The stories are silly and fun. My only qualm is that Junie is frequently calling people dumb, stupid, and/or threatening to to knock their lights out and we already have these issues with our 6 year old... but it also gives us a good opportunity to talk about better behavior without making it personal to him.

Classic book that takes you back to your childhood As an adult it's super easy to read of course. I picked this up one day when I heard they would be making the babysitters club into a show and was feeling a bit nostalgic so I decided to pick up my fav book from way back when. Children will love these books for years to come. And if you're feeling nostalgic this will really tickle your fancy. While my 3 year old son liked it just fine, I found Junie B to not be a good person, she is constantly judging people calling them dumb and stupid and saying she hates things. I also can’t stand that she uses the wrong words all the time like funner and runned. I suppose it is to make her sound more childish, but even my three year old corrects her and I feel it sets a bad example.

Cute but not language I’d like to encourage for my little Junie is cute and quirky but she calls people stupid and can be aggressive to her classes mates. I wish she was a better example as a character for my child to read about. She really likes these stories but I don’t think we will be reading anymore after this. I’d like to find a more wholesome character.

Jones is a 27 book series that has you cracking up at this cute little kindergartener and her dramatic expressions and sayings. This is my absolute favorite children's series while growing up! I could never put the books down and I never wanted them to stop. This box set comes with the first 4 books of the series and you will get a kick out of all the dramatic elements she ties in. Each of the books has quite an adventure and you get to experience the mind of this crazy kindergarten who loves to talk and know. I do not want to give a lot of the story away but I will say this, she might be in Kindergarten but she sure does know how to make people of older ages laugh! Although coming from the teaching aspect. I gave it a 4/5 because a lot of the content can be positive as well as negative. Junie B. Jones can be kind of a bully and demonstrate bad behaviors and attitudes towards teachers and other classmates . I also think that Junie B. Jones can demonstrate some dramatic behaviors about certain subjects such as tattle telling and calling mean names. Yet, this book could be used in a positive way in the classroom such as future jobs/ careers, how to become a big sibling, and the list goes on and on. I have personally always enjoyed this books and so it is hard to look at it from the teaching perspective and see those certain key components being shown through negativity. If I were to give this children's series a grade level, I would say that anyone can read this books starting at age 5. The actual age Junie B. Jones is for is 5-9, but anyone can read them!

My daughter's first grade teacher loved Junie B. Jones and started off the year reading many of her books. I was all over a cute spunky girl who wore glasses as the main character. That was until I read some of her books. Besides some humor, I don't find much to love about this girl. Children's books should not encourage bad grammar. Period. Children's books should not encourage bad grammar. Period. Yes adverbs are a hard concept, but reinforcing the incorrect use of them doesn't do children any favors. Especially when they think it's cute to talk like Junie B. and start emulating her. Grammar in America is deteriorating and avid reading is the strongest warrior against it. When bad grammar props up in children's literature it sort of ruins the point of reading. If her vocabulary weren't irritating enough, her whiny, know-it-all personality rakes against me. I can't read it to my daughter without having to correct the dialogue again and again. I just can't read bad grammar. So we talked about why the sentences were incorrect because I know she's reading it without me. And then I bought her a ton of better children's literature to distract her from her begging for Junie B. Jones books. (Beverly Cleary anyone?) Gratefully her teacher moved on to better forums for children's literacy like Magictree House and Roald Dahl. If you want spunk in your heroine's try Ramona the Pest or Clementine. They're intelligent, color-out-side-the-lines, question-authority-without-being-annoying girls who don't butcher the English language.

My 5 1/2 year old kindergartner just received these as a present for the holidays. I am so disgusted that anyone thinks these are good for kids. First, the grammar is awful. How can kids learn to read, write and speak properly if we read them terrible books like this?! Second, the way that the kids in this book treat each other and speak to each other is not a good model of behavior. I won't even donate them because they are so bad that no one should have to read them.

A girl at church gave me these books to read since they were her favorites. They are beginning chapter books and an adult can probably read all 4 in a little over an hour. They follow Junie B Jones through several escapades: Book 1: The Stinky Smelly Bus: Junie B has to ride the bus to kindergarten and doesn't like it. Book 2: A Little Monkey Business: Her brother is born and without seeing him, she thinks he is a monkey. If you have any concerns, you should read a couple of the books first.

Mostly okay, the books were repetative, as bad as Maze Runner's forced slang in books 2 and 3 or Dresden Files' copy-paste descriptuons of the car and Harry's views on women. The first book was cute, and had some unexpected and/or funny turns but the later ones in the collection had more predictable and cringy story lines. I also think the timeline was not well thought out because there are clearly time skips but it is still the same year of schooland Junie B is 'almost 6' in the first and fourt Mostly okay, the books were repetative, as bad as Maze Runner's forced slang in books 2 and 3 or Dresden Files' copy-paste descriptuons of the car and Harry's views on women.
