I have read Defender from this bundle by Robert J Crane and am reading the Dalglish book. This review is based on Defender..... Defender is the start of a sweeping epic of a tale, along the lines of LOTR and Game of Thrones...but more engaging and easier to follow than I found GoT to be. A really enjoyable read, which will draw you in for the next in the series.....

The novels were enjoying although a bit simple and final pages could easily be predicted while they have been repetitions of similar prior novels of authors who leaded this field of fantasy novels. One major problem was lack of editorial review which resulted with many errors of script.

I have separately read and reviewed “The Weight of Blood” by David Dalglish.

I have been also writing each review up on the individual books. That said, there were unfortunately some I didn't read because I didn't like them. What I did read was good quality but for the overall book grading, I'm going in the middle. So here's my two-penneth's worth of stars for them individually: 0 Destiny. Too much jumping around in the story settings. 4 Legacy of Light - great dragon book 4 The White Tree - long sentence structure. Great adventure, gruesome battles. 3 the dark citadel - av I have been also writing each review up on the individual books. Crone or Crow Very enjoyable set, I have read a couple already but enjoyed them so much I re-read them again in this set. I would rate every book in this set a five.

Amazon was selling this on Kindle for 99 cents, so my thrifty self figured it would be worth the price even if I only enjoyed one book out of seven. Unfortunately, that's exactly how many I truly enjoyed. Ravenwood by Nathan Lowell is the seventh book in the bundle, and they truly saved the best for last. I really liked Mr. Lowell's style, characters and writing. Since his individual novels are $4.95 each, the bundle price was definitely a steal just for this book. The only other book in the bundle I could finish was The White Tree by Edward W. Robertson. It had a lot of promise, some excellent parts and some interesting characters, but overall, it needed some work. I gave each of the other books a try, reading between three and six chapters of each, but I couldn't get into any of them. This bundle includes many different sub-genres of "Fantasy," so it's really just a subjective choice of which types a reader prefers.

Good light reading. Easy and fun. I enjoyed each story and enjoyed the second in the series of each. I recommend this collection and each author.

The last book brought this up to a three star rating. I would recommend beginning there. I only slogged through five of the other six.
