My favorite part of this book was the history of the dutch oven in the opening pages. This was followed by a section on seasoning cast iron cookware in a variety of locations, indoor and outdoor. Finally the author included quite a few recipes for dutch ovens. A lot of the main dishes seemed to be Middle Eastern, but the soups and breads included expanded the sphere of influence to most of the world. Good recipes There are good recipes in here. None of them are "regular" recipes, they are more exotic. Good recipes, but if you are looking for mainstream, these will not suit your tastes. Braised oxtail, black cherry cobbler that uses cherry soda, snap brownies that use graham crackers. Chicken with coconut milk. Etc... The recipes are written out so they are easy to follow for the casual cook. There are pictures of the finished foods. For a self published book, this one is a good one.
