When I was growing up, I had a kids' Bible and a kids' Book of Saints, and they were two books that I would look at often. The pictures in both were beautiful and I liked the stories, though at the time I didn't know just how much they meant to my religion and would effect my life. When I was asked if I would be interested in checking out this Bible for Kids, I decided that, since I loved mine so much as a child (and still have it), I would go ahead and check it out - and share it with the kids' When I was growing up, I had a kids' Bible and a kids' Book of Saints, and they were two books that I would look at often. When I was asked if I would be interested in checking out this Bible for Kids, I decided that, since I loved mine so much as a child (and still have it), I would go ahead and check it out - and share it with the kids' during story time. I was kind of put off by the cover. I understand why the author did it that way, but at the same time, it is very busy and didn't really pull me into the book like I feel a cover should do. I did, however, like the pictures that were used inside the book. They were beautifully done and the kids liked them too. I enjoyed the forward, the personal story that the author shared with us about her background with reading, Bible stories and bedtime. I always like when an author shares a bit of themselves and their lives with the reader, letting us know why they chose to write this kind of book, where they got the idea from, etc. The stories that the author chose to include in this book are well done. They are written so that a child can understand the story and sometimes even relate. Each story includes follow-up questions and activities that you can do with the child to help them to understand what they have read. When I sat down with the kids to read these, they asked for more than just one story and found some of the activities exciting and fun. Note: I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

It isn't as bad as I thought it would be. But it stills so boring. I just don't like to read tales a lot, but if you like them, the book might be interesting for you. There were like 5-6 tales which were interesting for me and the others were so so boring. It isn't as bad as I thought it would be. But it stills so boring. Great books for those who believe in God and want to have a very simple glance of the history. “As simple as a child”. Or for those who want to have a good summary content and brief guidelines to teach the kids in Sunday school. I can read hours by hours and feel interesting in each story.

Bible for Kids is a collection of true stories from both the Old and New Testament of the Holy Bible. Jesus birth, death and resurrection are within the New Testament stories as well as His parables. The book is interactive in that each story is followed by crafts and projects to help children envision the stories and internalize the lessons it is meant to teach. Many of the links will take the reader to YouTube (and/or other links) to play songs and to show children the story with drawn portrayals of the Bible characters. The stories are not in chronological order and in fact the Old and New Testament are intertwined. I would have rather seen the stories in order with Old Testament within the first part and the New Testament within the second part of the book. The stories are a paraphrase of the Bible. As such, I felt the importance was lacking from the creation of Eve (Chapter 2: Adam and Eve). God didn’t just create another human to remedy Adam’s loneliness. He created a woman thereby establishing the marriage union and later, the family unit. Some of the activities were not well-defined. Most were clear or could be figured out, but a few confused me. I have placed a couple of the YouTube references below. The first goes to the story for the Five Loaves and Two Fishes (Chapter 11: Jesus and the Loaves and the Fishes). The second goes to a song for Walkin’ on the Water (Chapter 12: Jesus Walks on Water), for which the content actually surprised me; the words were not altogether understandable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA8_U... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9VxB... For the story of The Crucifixion and Resurrection (Chapter 24), the author refers readers to: Benjamin’s Box: The Story of the Resurrection Eggs instead of paraphrasing the story. Then a summary of Benjamin’s Box was given. I’ve rated Bible For Kids at 2.5 out of 5.

Bible for Kids is a wonderful way to teach children about the bible and God. The stories and or parables are simply written with easy to understand prose and activities at the end of each chapter that help reinforce learning and understanding. The illustrations were well done and complimented each parable. There were some minor spacing issues and missing words but these did not detract from the enjoyment of the stories. A quick edit would have fixed these. Children will enjoy learning about God t Bible for Kids is a wonderful way to teach children about the bible and God. Good learning tool My daughter and I enjoyed reading this book together. I only have it a 3 star rating though because it is full of grammatical and spelling errors.
