A good collection of Big Nate comic strips, where he learns that it isn't easy standing up to bullies. A good strip hardly anyone ever talks about. 'Big Nate: Say Good-bye to Dork City' is a big full-color, full-of-fun collection that's great for younger readers and people who like to laugh. This time around, Nate finds himself in the cool kid's posse, but he might not survive it. He tries to convince his dad to buy the big school photo package so he has lots of wallet-size pictures to give the girls. He survives a Halloween where his dad wants to give out healthy treats. These are just a few of the adventures and misadventures Nate finds himself in this time around. Lincoln Peirce writes a great comic strip. I've read a couple of these collections, and they're just a lot of fun. If you've got a kid who doesn't like to read, you might try handing them some Big Nate and see what happens. I received a review copy of this graphic novel from Andrews McMeel Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for allowing me to review this graphic novel.

I have a reason why this would be one of the best big Nate books. why well it pretty much shows Nate standing up to a bully and that is why I like this book a lot. Even though he got beat and had a purple I he still was able to help out his friend.

I recently read Big Nate, Say Goodbye to Dork City by Lincoln Pierce. This book is about Nate who is in Middle School and his adventures. Nate is trying to fit in with a new group and he tries many things to be 'cool'. He tries to play his drums at the school dance and play basketball without his lucky socks. I liked this book because the character is like me. He struggles in school and plays a lot of sports. I like that the book is comics because it is easy to follow along with the story. I wouldn't change anything in this book. I recommend this book to kids who are in middle school. They would like it because he deals with the same things that middle schoolers do. It is easy to relate to Big Nate. I think most kids would enjoy reading this book.

I don't normally read graphic novels so this was a hard one for me to get through. This story was about a 6th grade kid and his want to fit in with the cool older kids. At least I think that's what it was supposed to be about. I only got about a third of the way through, (page 85) and had to put it down. There was no clear plot, and it just kind of seemed to jump around a lot. I also feel like this would be something for an older student, like 7th or 8th grade, who has really good reading compre I don't normally read graphic novels so this was a hard one for me to get through. I also feel like this would be something for an older student, like 7th or 8th grade, who has really good reading comprehension. There are so many jokes and a lot of them seem to be a little mature. For example, there's one page where the main character, Nate, is talking to the school secretary and the secretary makes a joke about the principal's weight. I thought that could have been left out because it just wasn't funny, plus she mentions how she has a low BMI which totally confused Nate, and the secretary continues too mock and insult the principal. The only joke I that did make me laugh was when the Nate tells his teacher "Being a teacher is such a cushy job." I appreciated that joke because the artist really captured the teacher's crazy reaction to that and made it pretty relate able for me. As I mentioned above anyone reading this book will also need to have a good sense of reading comprehension and needs to be able to understand a lot of mature vocabulary. One of the phrases that Nate uses in the beginning of the story includes the words "childhood vandalism epidemic." That's a phrase I can see many students in schools that won't understand that at all. Overall I wouldn't read it, but I may keep it for a classroom book.

There's a group of kids who don't have any friends but they're really cool. The guy in the lead is Marcus. Nate thinks that he's really cool. But he's actually a really big meanie. Nate's dad ran into someone and was still trying to be healthy for Halloween. He got sugar-free fruit rolls. Another parent decided to do that too. My favorite part was when Big Nate was playing soccer and they thought they could beat them with speed because they were versing the eighth graders and Coach John is not the nicest coach. He always wants them to go better. So he put them against a pretty big challenge. The eighth graders had super long legs but they stole the ball by going slow. I think that's the funniest part.

"Big Nate Say Good Bye To Dork City" is a funny and exciting book about how Nate wants to join the coolest kid in schools posse. But then he gets tired of doing things for him. He misses his friends. But the coolest guy in school says your not allowed to hang out with the losers (also known as Francis Teddy and Arthur who he doesn't like a little because he is dating the he likes)but he also said"if you leave my posse you will be sorry you ever joined. There was a boy named Nate. He had 2 friends in his life. Teddy and Francis. In this book was the 8th grader and he was in 6. Nate thought that he could be with a boy friend. his name was Marcus. Marcus offended Nate's friends and that's why he is not friends with Marcus anymore. And of course he was in detention again. There was a boy named Nate. He had 2 friends in his life. I like this is funny because Author and Nate hate each other for no reason. This book would be good for 5th graders because it's easy. If like diary of a wimpy you will like this because it's like a diary. Nate wants to a part of Marcus's club. Nate joins but he wants to...... READ TO FIND OUT. I gave this book a five because these are one of my favorite book series. I didn’t like this book as much because of how he left his friends and joined the person he called a loser which makes no sense. Overall I think the book was pretty good.

I think the book was amazing because all the stuff the Nate does with his friends is just too much for one person to handle because it makes you laugh and you want to share it with other people. Nate, he joins Marcus' posse and Nate it ends badly for Nate.
