Fallen Idol is a wonderful romance novel that is a perfect summer beach read. Author Nikki Lynn Barrett weaves an entertaining tale that follows the story of country music star Kyra Sanders and single dad Matt Greer. Author Nikki Lynn Barrett weaves an entertaining tale that follows the story of country music star Kyra Sanders and single dad Matt Greer. Kyra Sanders was a promising teen country music star, whose career was derailed when she was involved in a traumatic fatal accident. Six years later, she is trying to make a come back, when another accident occurs that sends her back home to Texas. Matt Greer is a single father who is trying to pick up the pieces of his and fourteen year old son Andrew's life after his wife abandons them to chase her dreams in the music industry. Kyra and Matt meet by chance, both have issues to overcome: her past keeps haunting her, while he has trouble dealing with past hurts and a mistrust of musicians; but in a small town it is hard to avoid one another, it has a way of bringing them together, even when danger lurks around the corner. Can Kyra and Matt put their troubles in the past and find love and happiness? Fallen Idol is a fast paced and exciting romantic tale with a country music twist. It has just the right mixture of romance, emotion, drama, family dynamic, mystery, and intriguing twists and turns that will easily captivate the reader and keep them guessing. You can't help but feel for Kyra and Matt as they face the challenges in their lives, and with the added threat of danger thrown into the mix, the reader is taken on an emotional journey as opposites attract and sparks ignite between Kyra and Matt, bringing them together with the hope that their blossoming relationship can help each other heal. As a country music fan, I thoroughly enjoyed the romance, drama, intrigue, and the incorporation of country music references that is intertwined within this good old fashion second time around romance story. Fallen Idol is the fourth book in the Love and Music in Texas Series, but can be a stand alone read. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Fallen Idol to read and review. I have to start by saying I loved this book! He is such a kind hearted man who puts everyone else's needs and wants before his own. He is a fantastic dad to his son Andrew and I loved seeing the changes in their relationship as the book progressed and with it their bond. There are many unpredictable incidents in the book which I always love! It's one of those books that as soon as you think you've figured out the ending, something totally different happens, but I shan't give away any spoilers! :) I look forward to reading the books in the series that were released prior to this! Certainly makes me intrigued about their stories! Very talented author! Review from book reviews and take-overs :)

Fallen Idol is about the comeback of Country Music Star Kyra Sanders, struggling to overcome the events of a tragic accident 6 years ago and Matt Greer, dealing with the after effects of a broken marriage and trying to raise his teenage son. This story was the perfect blend of romance and suspense. You realise early on that the details surrounding the accident which caused Kyra to take a break from music just don’t fit and as she plans her comeback someone is willing to stop her chances of success at any cost including endangering her loved ones hence how she crosses paths with the lovely Matt who is dealing with his own demons. I found myself engrossed with the development of their love story as they both try to get over issues and misconceptions to have a chance at something real. I really ‘felt’ while reading this story. I laughed, cried and was fearful for the characters and that to me is a sign of a great writer. I had a big sappy smile on my face at the end! Matt sums it up for me perfectly: “No dream is ever too little. If it’s something you want, I’d love to give it to you” We all need our own Matt!!

Another great book in this series! I felt so bad for Kyra as she went through so much. She was a singing sensation in her early teens until an accident changed her life. It shows Kyra’s values that as soon as she heard her parents were hurt in a fire, she rushed home to Texas to be with them. Her younger brother David is a real sweetheart and is so happy to see her. Unfortunately her sister Amy has a chip on her shoulder and won’t give her the time of day. Matt is good friends with Kyra’s family Another great book in this series! I was glad to see another side of Matt in this book. His ex wife left him and their son to chase a music career. So he doesn’t think much of people in music. This is an issue he has to get over as he and Kyra start having feelings for each other. Matt’s son Andrew really likes Kyra too and pushes Matt towards her. There is someone who is out to get Kyra and doesn’t want her to have a comeback in music. There are many suspicious things happening to Kyra and the people she loves. There are people in her past that come back into her life and she doesn’t know if they are there to help her or harm her. There are some edge of your seat happenings going on that I couldn’t put the book down. I loved it and strongly encourage you to read the book.

But the more time that Krya and he spend together, Nevada change of heart. He is there more and more for Krya. He is trying to help her with her anxiety and stage fright. They are both afraid of their feelings and what came happen. More and more threats are happening for Krya. The scene where Matt put together the dance for Kyra was OMG! I just loved it. When you get to Brandon and Amy running away, you start to look at everything differently. Then Andrew's birthday party and the surprise visitor. How Matt and Andrew reacted and the outcome was heartbreaking. You get everything in this book. You have the love of family. The relationship between Krya, David, and Amy is amazing. How Matt and Andre are together. Even the rest of the characters in this book are amazing. You feel what Andrew, Matt,Amy, David, and Krya are going through. You can see the friendships between Matt, Randy, and Blaine. The chance of love changing someone and helping them grow.

Fallen Idol is book 4 in Nikki Lynn Barrett's Love and Music in Texas series. This book tells Kyra and Matt's story. Like all of Barrett's stories, this book features a few surprises and bumps along the journey. I love how each little incident really builds on to the rest of the story and adds something important. Matt was a wonderful character. He was a great father to his son and really came off as very selfless. Though he also had deep hurts from his past. Because of these hurts he initially misjudges Kyra based solely on his own opinions of what her character should be. Kyra has her own struggles, once a teen idol, an accident took it all away. But now Kyra is making a comeback and trying to move on from a past that still often torments her. Matt and Kyra definitely have a slow build in their relationship as they both sort of work out their own past issues but everything falls into place and its easy to see they belong together. With each other they can sooth their souls and find an inner peace. Barrett has penned another beautiful love story with Kyra and Matt in Fallen Idol that fits in wonderfully with the previous books in the series. Her characters definitely come to life and pull you in, her plot is always thrilling, and she loves to keep you wondering just where this path is leading then turns you halfway through just to throw you off track. *I was given an ARC for my honest review. Thoughts of the story are my own*

The characters that are brought back just enhance the story rather then leaving the reader wonder what was going on in the previous books. Matt and Krya have their own special story. Krya was on her way to Harmony Grove to visit her parents. She was in the middle of trying to get her music career going after a tragic event cut her already promising music career short. Matt is adjusting to raising a teenage son on his own after his ex wife abandoned them to become a singer. Matt meets Krya after she was involved in a car accident. Sparks fly between them from the moment they meet. But due to their own paths they aren't sure if they want to go down the romantic path. The live story that develops between them is touching, but enter in a mystery from Krya's path it may make this relationship even more difficult to survive. I enjoyed this book so much I didn't want to put down! This series is great contemporary romance with the right amount of suspense in it. The characters of Harmony Grove are easy to love!

I loved the storyline about a singer who is trying to make a comeback with her music but realizes there's more to her past and the accident that changes everything. When she meets Matt, he has instantly judged her for being a singer (thanks to his ex-wife Kendra, after leaving to follow her dreams and blaming it on him), now causing an accident that his son Andrew was also present in the car. Kyra & Matt both have to learn to "bare their souls" to let love in. The family & friends of the small town's closeness was very special. Amy's secrets & struggles to not be put in her sisters spotlight causes trouble but shows you can also be your own person. The blackmail, Kyra's attacks & such really shows you how cold-hearted, evil & manipulative people can be to get what they want; fame. I'm glad they brought Taryn & Jordan (ex bandmates/ex-bestfriend & boyfriend) in for a few scenes, so you could see the whole picture. I didn't like Mark (the manager) since he seemed more focus on Kyra's career and not her well-being. There are quite a few good surprises in store. The few bad scenes helped the story uncover what happened the night of the accident that was pinned on Kyra. Towards the end you wonder what will happen because it can go either way, but a HEA was brilliant.

At first I was like he`s so mean and then once we learn more about Matt everything comes together. I loved how Nikki Lynn Barrett never forgets her other characters in this beautiful series and brings all of them together. In my head these characters come to life so easily to the point where I can see this little town come to life like in a Hallmark tv show series. The music, the town, the people in this series all beautifully done. Hoping there`s more in this series love to see how Andrew grows up, Baby Emily even Amy Kyra`s sister just a thought. Loved it.

I listened to a lot of country music while reading this. I just felt like sharing that. And really "a lot" isn't more than usual since I listen to the genre regularly. Which is why this book caught my attention in the first place. My attention isn't all this story caught though but my heart too. It felt like such a comfort read that it might as well been like going home. It's a great mix of romance and mystery; and both are so perfect that I don't even think there's a word to describe them when combined. As someone who is constantly looking for characters who are fighters and non-stop action, Fallen Idol was a great change of pace. It's nice to step away from what I usually read and turn to something that gives you non-stop emotions and makes you stop to think on different levels. It's definitely a new favorite that I won't be forgetting anytime soon. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Love Country Style Music fame, love, redemption, and the unpredictability of life are all part of this novel. I received a review copy This book had a little bit of everything. Romance and mystery topped the list, and made for a great combination. It was easy to feel sympathetic to Kyra after all she had been through, and she was a character I definitely cheered for. I felt the same for Matt, and it was hard not to want these two to get together, despite the many challenges they faced. Sometimes the plot seemed a little too stretched out for me, but hey, when something involves celebrities and Hollywood careers, what’s too much? Still a lot of fun to get lost in!

Do you know how crazy I'm going because I really want to read this book. You have an author that just loves to tease you and give you a little of the book to read. You keep coming back more and more each day to see if the book is ready to be read. How can this author treat me this way and enjoy it more and more every time? Maybe one of these days I can pay her back. I'm sharpening my pitch forks. Yep Nikki you heard me, the pitch forks will be coming after you. Nikki never fails to keep me wanting more! This book is witty and emotional with right amount of spice and mystery. I fell in love from page one hook, line and sinker. Characters that surprise you and make you feel. A beautiful story. Kyra's past seem to haunt her where ever she goes. Matt cant let his past hurts stay in the past. Follow Matt and Kyra as they try to piece the past together and try to see if they can have a future. I received this for an honest review.. I found this book to be a really good and enjoyable read!! This book really does touch your heart with the story.. Kyra was a child star country star who is now trying to make a comeback!! Matt is trying to make it as a single dad who wants nothing to do with anybody in the music business. This was such a fun read with the perfect amounts of chemistry, a small amount of mystery, and friends and family as secondary characters that you just fall in love with! just keeps getting better This series is addicting. To say they keep getting better is an understatement. I have the dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep to prove it. This is yet another top notch book. Well written easy flow and characters you absolutely fall in love with over and over again. Mixing country music , country folks , and fun loving people you have a hit for sure. Now I will be stalking her web page for the rest of the series. This is defiantly a winner

Beautiful. That is just one word that I can say about this book. I can't find words except that I would love to read more of this series. I loved the connect between the characters. It was one very strong connection. This had some suspense to it as it had you routing for the main characters, yet at the same time wanting to find out what happened next.
