This is the first Low FODMAP cookbook I've found where the author clearly understands eating (as opposed to just fueling the body). The recipes have all been good when made, the ingredients are accessible, the recipes are well-written, and the photos are amazing. So many other cookbooks in this category have focused on just providing food that fits the diet without taking into account what's palatable. Definitely a keeper, and hope to see more from this author. This is the first Low FODMAP cookbook I've found where the author clearly understands eating (as opposed to just fueling the body). This is THE BEST Low-FODMAP cookbook I have seen (and I've checked out close to two dozen from my local library). In fact, it is the only cookbook that I have ever owned that hasn't had a chance to collect dust - Low-FODMAP or otherwise. It is now the ONLY cookbook I use. The recipes are all delicious, accessible, and straightforward; they span a variety of flavor profiles, but without any crazy ingredients or techniques that you've never heard of before. I was diagnosed with IBS about 10 years ago and recently started the Low FODMAP diet. I first discovered Dianne through her blog and after trying some of her recipes I thought I'd give her cookbook a try. Every recipe I have tried in this cookbook so far has been a hit! My husband loves the recipes and he doesn't even have any digestive issues. I was diagnosed with IBS about 10 years ago and recently started the Low FODMAP diet. The recipes look great....but I see ingredients that may not be as gut friendly as they should be.

My husband was recently diagnosed with IBS so I searched and searched for a good low-FODMAP cookbook. This was the first one I came across that was rated highly not only for the informative part at the beginning of the book, but also for its recipes. I took the plunge and bought it. For the past 22 days every single dinner and dessert we have eaten has been directly out of this cookbook. For the past 22 days every single dinner and dessert we have eaten has been directly out of this cookbook. Since I personally do not have any gut issues I was really hoping to enjoy the flavor of these recipes... and I was not disappointed! So far they are all delicious! Even if neither of us had gut issues I would continue to use this cookbook. Overall the recipes are easy to understand and follow, do not require out of the ordinary kitchen tools, and are easy for inexperienced home-chefs. Some of our very favorite meals so far have been: Lemon Blueberry Baked Doughnuts (I did have to buy a doughnut pan for this one), Loaded Baked Potato Coins, Walnut-Crusted Chicken Parmesan, Maple-Marinated Salmon with Sesame Spinach Rice, and One-Minute Vegan Chocolate Cake. I am making the Oven-Fried Chicken Fingers With Maple Mustard Dipping Sauce and Raspberry Walnut Salad for dinner tonight and I can't wait to see how they turn out! Sidenote: I did make the the chicken broth recommended in this book one time and while it was very flavorful, it took more time and effort than I personally want to put in since none of my local grocery stores sold chicken bones and I had to actually debone a chicken to get them out. I found Savory Choice chicken broth concentrate and have been using that instead since it is specifically low-FODMAP.

This cookbook is well laid out, has beautiful photos and the recipes are easy to follow. I especially like that the author emphasizes not everyone can eat all the recommended foods. I've ulcerative colitis so in addition to needing to reducing my fodmap consumption I have follow a diet low in insoluble fiber. I'd always blamed my food sensitivities on my ulcerative colitis but the author suggested that if some low fodmap foods cause problems a person might also have food allergies. Pretty good list of recipes with quite a few vegetarian or vegan options (though only two "main meals"; many can be made with vegan ingredients and some even have sidebars to let you know how to do that). Excited to try some of these. I’ve been looking for some new ideas on what to do about my husbands constant tummy troubles. Lots of books I’ve read have recipes my husband just will not even think about eating. This one is different. This cookbook has simple, interesting recipes that don’t have a ton of expensive ingredients for food my husband won’t touch anyway. The photographs are beautiful and the instructions are clear. What more could you want?
