My thoughts on this novel are very similar to the first one in this series, Home is Where You Are. It wasn't perfect but overall it made me laugh, feel, and swoon, so it was an easy win for me! Seth and Katie have known each other for years. He's her best friend's older brother and Katie has crushed on him for years. She never knew that Seth felt the same (or that he suppressed his feelings because of their two-year age difference), and when he left for college two years earlier she didn't known My thoughts on this novel are very similar to the first one in this series, Home is Where You Are. It wasn't perfect but overall it made me laugh, feel, and swoon, so it was an easy win for me! Seth and Katie have known each other for years. He's her best friend's older brother and Katie has crushed on him for years. She never knew that Seth felt the same (or that he suppressed his feelings because of their two-year age difference), and when he left for college two years earlier she didn't known when she'd see him again. But he's back and now that she's almost eighteen, he can't ignore his feelings any longer. Not everything or everyone from your past is meant to be left behind. I moved away, but I'm realizing now my heart never came with me. It stayed here with you. I loved how sweet Seth was and he really made me believe in his love for Katie. Doesn’t she realize I want it to be more? That I don't want to treat her like something I can have. She’s too precious to just be given to me. I want to work for her, prove to her she’s more to me than a means to an end. "I want you to forget every other kiss you've ever had and know the only kiss that has ever mattered to me is the one with you." Katie is lonely and feels unwanted. Her father isn't in her life and her mother remarried and has other children, and Katie constantly feels like the odd one out. They say home is where the heart is, but for me it's only a reminder that I'm my mother’s biggest mistake, and I'll never truly belong in her new family. There were times when Katie was juvenile. This is true YA, which is why it didn't bother me. She frustrated me and I rolled my eyes, but I really saw a change in her and after all, she's a teenager, so I can't fault her for being juvenile. What really resonated with me was how lonely she was. The only time I ever feel anything is when I'm drunk. People want to hang out with me when I can down more shots than the average person. It gives me an edge, makes me interesting enough to keep around because if I have to rely on my personality alone, I'm not sure I'd make the cut. I thought the author did an awesome job of portraying her loneliness and I'm not going to lie, I cried a lot. It took a lot for her to believe that Seth was interested in her and as much as it broke my heart, I loved watching him tear her walls down. "What am I going to do with you?" "Love me," I say jokingly, but he freezes, slowly pulling back to look into my eyes. "I already do." They both have problems with their families, but they find a home within each other. They find a place where they are accepted, flaws and all. As I mentioned, this wasn't perfect. There was some drama toward the end that felt unnecessary or maybe just a little forced, and certain aspects (particularly all the strife Katie had with her mom) wrapped up a little too neatly than I usually like. But everything else was so spot on for me that I didn't really mind. This was a very enjoyable addition to this series, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a sweet, easy read :) Safety: (view spoiler)[Both are pretty experienced and have had previous "relationships," but they (repeatedly) say that none of them meant anything. Seth gets jealous about some of Katie's previous relationships and that does cause some drama, but there's no OW. (hide spoiler)] Closure: (view spoiler)[An epilogue a few months later where Katie graduates and they're still happily together. (hide spoiler)]

Didn't even know this book existed. Always wanted a book on Katie and Seth and here it is!!! Seth is evicted from his friends house he been crashing at...now he has no choice but to go back home. He left two years ago, and didn't plan on returning but now it's his only option. Ever since the death of his Dad, Seth has been holding onto a secret, a secret that could destroy his family, and it's not even his. Returning home means facing his family, his mother, his little sister who's grown up now.. Didn't even know this book existed. Always wanted a book on Katie and Seth and here it is!!! Ever since the death of his Dad, Seth has been holding onto a secret, a secret that could destroy his family, and it's not even his. Returning home means facing his family, his mother, his little sister who's grown up now...and so is her best friend. Katie is failing school, partying hard and throwing her life away. She doesn't care, why would she when no one is stopping her, when no one cares. No one except her best friend Anna, who no matter what will pick her drunk ass up and take her home. It's become a routine, like clockwork. Her life is going nowhere fast. Another night stumbling into Anna's house has her coming face to face with a boy she hasn't seen in two years, a boy she's crushed on since she saw him. Her best friend's older brother...and now he's back home. Both a little broken but came back into each others life right in time to save each other. Definitely an enjoyable read. A bit disappointing with Seth's secret reveal...assumptions assumptions...they're the worst.
