This is an utterly useless, disorganized mess of a book. He first goes into some history, definitions, and skills you need to start hacking. Then he goes into types of hacking attacks, making a hacking plan, and then dives into a few specifics (sort of). The entire book is extremely vague. Even when he mentions specific tools, the presentation is a disjointed pile of garbage that even an experienced computer nerd couldn't wade through. Worse yet, some of the software he recommends trying does not This is an utterly useless, disorganized mess of a book. The entire book is extremely vague. Even when he mentions specific tools, the presentation is a disjointed pile of garbage that even an experienced computer nerd couldn't wade through. Worse yet, some of the software he recommends trying does not exist or leads to some shady websites that are obvious scams. In addition, nearly all of the automated tools he mentions do not actually work on today's devices, yet he completely ignores this fact and sells them like this is going to let you grab all the files off of any phone in the world. 90% of this book is discussion on useless topics loosely related to hacking, and the other 10% is equally useless information on using outdated and broken tools.

A good start for a beginner, Instructions can be followed easily. Each method is explained with their weakness. Attacks explained step by step. First part has explaining of terms and theoretical part of security and hacking. Second part focused on how to operate an attack. Reader can found information about tools, programs, instructions, weaknesses, and tactics. The last part focus on “why hacking necessary”, cyber security tips, and predictions of authors about future of cyber security and career A good start for a beginner, Instructions can be followed easily. Underwhelming to say the least... Only goes very superficially to the topics and no detail. Also, some hints, tools, and sites referred are outdated.

Had a long trip ahead and a few Audible books on the phone so I've decided to give this book a go. And all I had in mind while listening to this is that there is no way that you can make any books that have code or program instructions to be comfortable to listen instead of reading. I, also, don't get the point of reading whole URLs (sometimes with queries) or describing software interface and where to click. Don't get me wrong, this book is probably a good choice for beginners but it's utterly useless for any individual familiar with programming on security testing. To quote part of another review: "It skims over the basic history and types of attacks and then spews a bunch of penetration testing tools which will be outdated shortly. There are no true hacking or penetration tips that you couldn’t resolve from common sense or a basic security seminar. This is more of a pamphlet than a book." So, 1/5 from me, it's not worth the read for any devs with basic knowledge of the security.
