Although there are some glimpses of characters from Cars 3, it isn’t a retelling of that movie. It is more a list of life lessons. Great for Cars fans. EL (K-3) – OPTIONAL. Reviewer, C. Basic Plot: Not much, really- just sort of explains that sometimes you need another person in your life to give you advice, and eventually you will be that person for someone else. I really like the concept of this book and didn't feel it was overly heavy-handed, when it really could have been. It gives some hints as to what is coming in Cars 3 through the pictures, but doesn't actually say anything specific. The pictures really enhance the words by reminding children of what lessons they can tak Basic Plot: Not much, really- just sort of explains that sometimes you need another person in your life to give you advice, and eventually you will be that person for someone else. I really loved this book. So much that I went back to Costco and picked up three more, so I could keep one (I had bought it for a friend's son who loves cars), and give more away. It isn't your typical car story, but one of a life's journey of a growth mindset, and knowing that we don't do this alone. We have many mentors that help to guide us, and in return, we, too, can become that mentor. To me, it is a must-buy for the home and for the classroom. I really loved this book.
