Love this cookbook! Many French cook books have ingredients that are difficult to get in the US which is not the case here. I made the gougeres and the pear and blue cheese tartines for a dinner party last night and they were both a hit!

I love puttering around in my kitchen, and I fancy myself as a decent cook. I weirdly love wandering around the grocery store, taking extra time to check out the cheese counter (bonus if there are samples). I like perusing cookbooks, my stomach grumbling at glossy photos of the finished product. I just like reading about food. Food and I are friends. Very good friends. My office Christmas party was this morning. Thank *god* my first white elephant gift of smelly lotion, shower gel, bath bombs, a candle, and a bottle of wine was stolen. I hate that girly shit. Well, except the wine. And maybe the candle, but the cat nearly burned my house down by catching her tail on fire the last time I burned one. Hence the rule "No More Candles." My next gift pick was this cookbook and an enormous spring form pan. Now THIS is more my speed! It was from a French colleague, whom I assume knows what's what about French food. I read the cookbook over my lunch hour, and I enjoyed the author's description of the French approach to food. The recipes appear approachable and utilize ingredients I can get at my local grocery store. I can't wait to get cooking! Who's up for being my guinea pig?

This book had so many recipes that I would like to try. I have the eBook, but may need to get a hard copy to note any changes I would like to try next time. The recipes were simple and could be made even by someone without a lot of experience. Most sound delicious. I made the cream of mushroom soup (Veloute de Champignons) today and had the soup made and dishes washed in less than an hour.

Nice simple French cookbook The book had true French receipes with duck and different cuts of meat. I am going to start out with a few of the simpler receipes. Enjoyed reading the history of French cooking. Fun simple book!

This is a great French cookbook to make food from my mother country. Everything is easy to read, pretty to look at, and simple to make.

Really good cookbook I really enjoyed this book. It had simple recipes and made suggestions on ingredients we can buy and use in the U.S.
