DETECTIVE COMICS STORY ARC : INTELLIGENCE - 3.5 out of 5 stars Contains review for Detective comics issue #958 - #962 This whole James Tynion run has been very entertaining for me , with spotlight shifting away from Batman to focus on the new Bat-family characters and still managing to keep Batman central add in some good art , decent action and some fantastic story telling and so far even the worst of the Tynion Detective Comics run has felt better than many comics available and DETECTIVE COMICS STORY ARC : INTELLIGENCE - 3.5 out of 5 stars Contains review for Detective comics issue #958 - #962 This whole James Tynion run has been very entertaining for me , with spotlight shifting away from Batman to focus on the new Bat-family characters and still managing to keep Batman central add in some good art , decent action and some fantastic story telling and so far even the worst of the Tynion Detective Comics run has felt better than many comics available and definitely better than the best Tom King has yet to offer in his Batman run . That said handling Jean - Paul or Azarael is very tricky and more often than not those story come out to be very boring filled with religious POVs , however I thought Tynion handled it all really well . The homage to the old Azarael Bat-suit and the new robot assistant - Rookie was very nice to see and read. However there was a lot of exposition and the Zatana crushing on Bats bit was also very weird , I mean I always remembered her and Dick having a thang . Either ways it was still a very fun read and it sets up for Ra's entry in the Rebirth universe and that's always good

A great ending to a great arc. I hope the next one is this good (finally the return of Tim Drake and the Young Justice team anyone?).

Art: 4 Story: 4 Action: 4 This is the finale for the arc focused on Jean Paul a.k.a Azrael. I am not familiar with this character so thanks to this arc I learnt more. Art is always beautiful like the other previous issue. And James Tynion is the man for such interesting story and dialogue between characters.

This gave us almost no resolution, but did get one long-gestating reveal done. I also finally understand why I've disliked this arc so much. The dumbass conspiracy thing suggested by the end is exactly the kind of comic writing I ultimately find so cliché. It also probably has to do with Metal, which I'm already on record as hating so this arc has really felt like a waste for me. This came to a really action-packed conclusion. You can see how desperate Batman is for Tim Drake to come back. And we get a discussion between him and Jean-Paul Valley at the end about what’s within the latter.

One heck of a conclusion, there. Good action, well timed humor, and a couple of plot points that I've been waiting to strike. Come on, Issue 963! One heck of a conclusion, there. Good action, well timed humor, and a couple of plot points that I've been waiting to strike. Come on, Issue 963!
