Interesting but disappointing As a brand-new Instant Pot owner, I found this book instructive and encouraging at first. It made my new appliance seem very accessible. Many of the recipes sound good. A read-through, however, showed that both ingredient lists and instructions are often vague or incomplete, and sometimes contradict each other. One recipe, for instance, calls for a whole organic chicken (a sizeable investment), then instructs the user to add chicken breasts. Does the cooking time apply to either/or? And what size can of tomatoes? What kind of squash am I supposed to shred? There's a lot of difference between a crooked squash and an acorn squash. And what quantity? I'm smart enough to make pretty good guesses and fill in most of the blanks, but the slipshod handling makes me wonder how much I should trust what's written here. Or am I just not well enough acquainted with ebooks?

Almost a Standard In my many attempts to find a really good, go-to cookbook for my Instapot, I found this one. Very comprehensive introduction to the appliance itself, from unpacking to care. I really liked this, even though I must have 30 of these cookbooks. Not one has this much information. There is a short Q&A at the end. Very nice. The book started with breakfast recipes. As I continued to read the book, I noted no scale is needed, no conversion of any kind (sorry for non-American reader, but I hope you have a conversion chart hanging around as I do). I also came to wonder if I should just mark the recipes I won't make (for example, ox tail is just too expensive) rather than those I will. My gripe is no photographs. But that is my chief gripe of my Gold Standard, The Joy of Cooking. Using the imagination really isn't as good as a photograph. I will be grocery shopping tomorrow for sure.

Good ideas but could use some proofreading Many good ideas that are easy to prepare. I like that it uses common ingredients that you can find easily at home or the local grocery stores. The downside is the need for proofreading. Occasionally, there are steps missing. This book is a good introduction to the Instant Pot cooking method. It clearly explains the pot’s features and limitations. Unfortunately, it really needs illustrations, especially in the areas of disassembly and locking the lid. Lacks Specifics Not for an inexperienced cook. Sometimes the ingredients will say ‘one jar’ of something, but does not give what size in ounces. Ingredients may say ‘whole chicken’ but the instructions are for chicken breasts only. Recipe will call for flank steak, but directions ‘imply’ that it may need to be cut in pieces so it can be stirred with ingredients. Ingredients will say 1 cup tomatoes, but not what kind. This ebook does not appear to have been proofread.

Really good recipe book for those with the name-brand appliance. Usable by those with "off-brand" pressure cookers, as the author does not solely rely upon the pre-programmed buttons for all dishes but rather states cooking type ("temperature") and cooking length. Also includes a good discussion of when and why to release the steam quickly rather than letting it gradually release. Recommended. Really good recipe book for those with the name-brand appliance. I had won an instant pot, and downloaded several free cookbooks, to help me get started with using it. While many of the recipes seem to be easy, I have not tried any. After trying out a recipe that came in the instant pot's information booklet, I discovered that pressure cooking is not for me. My husband helped me with the instructions on using the it, but I am sad to say that pressure cookers still terrify me. Good recipes but needs some editing This has some good recipes and some sound how to's. That some really tasty vegetarian items. The book needs some editing. For example the pressure level is not stated in some recipes and ingredients not always consistent with directions. For example one recipes calls for olive oil but the cooking instructions calls for coconut oil. Good recipes but needs some editing This has some good recipes and some sound how to's. Some decent recipes The recipes In this cookbook are pretty simple for instant pot beginners. I would recommend this book for someone new at the Instant Pot that would enjoy learning to try new foods. A lot of the recipes seem to have an Asian flair to them. I do plan on trying some of the dumpling recipes as that is one of the foods my three year old actually enjoys eating.

Couldn't find anything I wanted to try :( There is some good general advice about how to use and care for your Instant Pot. This is helpful. But the recipes did not stand out in any way. They weren't unusual, or easy in any way. I would have been interested in either quality. As it is, I couldn't find anything I wanted to try :( Your mileage might vary, as they say. I'm excited to start cooking!! I have never used a pressure cooker before nor a rice cooker or air fryer. I have wanted to purchase an instant pot for several years but never had the money to do so. So I enjoyed this cookbook because it helps to explain how to use the cooker properly. We just got an Instant Pot, and I found this book for free on Amazon, so I looked it over. It has a section about safety, cleaning, and what you need to know. Another section has recipes. I found a few recipes we might want to try.

Lousy instructions There are some interesting recipes, however the instructions are terrible. There are omissions and misspellings throughout. If you try these recipes, be prepared to improvise.

Very basic No pictures. No interesting descriptions. Just recipes. I did like that there were vegetarian, keto and paleo recipes differentiated. Just in case you have dietary restrictions

Not for beginning instant pot users Instructions were not precise enough. The amount of liquid to be used was left off most recipes. The editing was poor. One beef recipe had instructions for pork instead of the beef. The recipes were worth the price (free).

I first want to say that I haven’t made any of these recipes but I enjoyed reading the cookbook and seeing the variety for the instant pot which I already use quite often. I saw the criticisms of other reviews and perhaps if I run into issues trying these recipes I will take a star off.
