Her boss notices that there's something bothering her so she gives Kate a new client. Alex Hanson is a computer game programmer who lives in his own head and doesn't get out much. He's new to the world of BDSM but he's desperate to try and find what he likes. He signs up for Hooded Pleasure's because he's too afraid to go to an actual BDSM club but needs to finally figure out if he's a sub or not. He never expected to have such a reaction to his Domme though, and soon emotions are getting mixed into play. This book had something that appealed to me and I decided to step out of my comfort zone to try something I haven't really read before. A female Dominant for hire and a male submissive.. Trying something new didn't go too well for me this time, though. Kate really bothered and I didn't enjoy her character at all. Most of the book was her being worried about breaking the rules and being stubborn about her feelings for Alex. I get that she had a bad experience with a man in the past and had her heart broken, but I didn't like the way she let her ex rule her emotions and affect her in such a strong way. I got really tired of hearing about, honestly. Alex made the story bearable and I really liked his character. He was adorable in a geeky way, which I loved. I really liked how he was so determined to get Kate to give him a chance outside of the bedroom and I could tell that he really cared for her. The book was around a 2.5 Stars for me until the end, and then it fell to, at most, 1.5. Everything at the end just happened too fast for me and I felt like the author was trying too hard to make it all come together. Overall, I think this book had potential to be a good one for me, but with Kate being annoying and then the end it just fell through.

This a sexy Domme/sub romance about a woman who works for a Domme-for-Hire company and a man seeking out their services, to determine if it's the right fit for him. Kate had a painful breakup when she was betrayed publicly at a sex club by her boyfriend and submissive who'd found a new Domme without telling her. Avoiding the club, she now has strict one on one sessions with clients only - no emotional entanglements. Enter Alex, a computer software expert. He's had little success in exploring his desires with other women, and is ready to try something new. Kate and Alex have an immediate connection and their intense sessions benefit them both. But there is a no sex/no relationship policy between Dommes and their clients, to protect everyone involved. When Kate finds herself drawn to Alex beyond her professional capacity, will she be willing to take a risk with her heart again? If you enjoy BDSM romances, this one should definitely go on your reading list. Proper attention is paid to safe words, after care and everything in between for the people involved. Because of the no sex policy, the sessions between Kate and Alex do not culminate in sex between the couple, and as a result it's a slow burn romance with a twist, since they have very intimate sessions without sex, and learn about each other in the process. It's not until much later in the story, once they've admitted their real feelings for each other, that they take things to the next level. Alex has to prove to Kate that even though he's new to the world of submission, it's Kate herself that he's attracted to and falling in love with, not the experience that he could get with just any Domme. And Kate has to learn to trust herself again, and that her feelings for Alex are genuine. There are scenes in Alex's home, and also at a BDSM club (the one Kate used to frequent). There are also several scenes involving Alex and Kate's mutual love of computer gaming. The story is well written, entertaining, and gives a good insight into the BDSM lifestyle. I'm looking forward to continuing the series! Note: A copy of this story was provided by the author for review.

Everyone has their weak points but I just didn't feel like this would've been hers. She'd known their relationship was sort of not working for them so why she was so hurt to find out he'd cheated I'm not sure.. I can see her being upset so much by the way they acted like it was nothing, no argument, not talking about what happened, just let him come and take his things and leave. I would've really liked to see Kate bend the rules a little. Give in a little with Alex so she could see that there was more there, but it wasn't until the very end that anything really happens between the couple and I think it could've come together a little more smoothly and not so focused on the rules, but that's me. Overall, I enjoyed it and would read the next in the series. I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

I received a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads I completely enjoyed this novel. He calls Hooded Pleasures and requests their services. Kate & Alex SPARK. Their chemistry is written quite well and you want them to cross all the lines in a personal relationship but Kate tries to keep her heart in check and hides behind the "rules" of the job. Alex just needs to knock down the walls Kate has built around her heart after that horrible breakup. I found Kate endearing and interesting and Alex a good mix between a submissive but also a man who knows what he wants. Both characters are techie/gamers and gave a nice thread in common between them. It was a very pleasant read.

Knowing Kate is in a rut, her boss gives her a special client she feels may give her the breath of fresh air she is seeking. Kate is wary but she goes to the interview anyway. Then she meets Alex. Alex is a hot as hell geeky game programmer. A force to be reckoned with in the boardroom. After all of his relationships have left him seeking more, he comes to the conclusion he may be a submissive. He is too afraid to go to a club, so he hires Hooded Pleasures to find out once and for all if he is indeed, a submissive. I absolutely fell in love with this book! Kate and Alex immediately clicked! I felt their chemistry and their intensity was off the charts! You can see feelings developing for both but trying so hard to keep them at bay. Kate doesn't want to get hurt again plus there are the rules for their protection they both must abide by. Alex knows she's hiding behind the rules because he feels he is breaking down her walls. He will not let her get away so he sets up a plan to prove what he feels for Kate. I really liked both Kate and Alex. You can see why Kate is scared and you can see why Alex is determined to show Kate he's the real deal. I especially loved how the gamer aspect weaves it way throughout the story! It definitely adds to the compatibility showing they could be just good outside the bedroom as in. This is the first book by Sheryl Nantus that I have read and I highly recommend it. I am looking forward to additional books in the series! 4.5stars/ 4 flames This book was given to me for the express purpose of an honest review. The rating and review are solely my opinions and in no way was I compensated.

4 ½ shining stars! In any genre, there’s always talk about tropes/scenarios that are used too much. In the female dominant/male submissive stories, one of those is the “pro-Domme falling in love with her client” or having the heroine be a “pro-Domme” at all, instead of simply a woman who embraces a Dominant submission. However, tropes/scenarios that continue to reappear do so because readers like it when that trope is handled well and delivers them a satisfying and absorbing love story. Think of 4 ½ shining stars! Think of how many Cinderella story romances there are, for just that reason. You might discard 99 of those as “been there, done that”, but then you’ll pick up the 100th one and the characters will capture your interest, their love story will draw you in, and you’ll find yourself on a lovely journey, experiencing a very worthwhile read. Strictly Business provided that experience at a 4 ½ out of 5 star level. I loved Alex and Kate’s chemistry, and one scene in particular touched my heart enough I re-read it several times. The author followed her own romantic heart on this story, and it showed, as did her strong writing talent. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 was the ending felt too rushed (but maybe that was just me, not wanting to leave Alex and Kate’s company, lol). I would definitely read more stories by this author. Thank you, Sheryl Nantus!

Femdom novels are a bit hit and miss for me, but I absolutely loved this one. Both of the main characters are likeable and are easy to connect with, and the storyline was interesting. Can Alex convince Kate that he's the man for her? Kate was an intriguing character - strong in many ways, but also strangely vulnerable and afraid of getting hurt again. Alex was a total sweetheart, I loved him to bits. He really cared for Kate and I admired his determination in trying to win Kate's heart. I enjoyed this book a lot, so it definitely gets five stars. Good read This was different from what I thought and what I have read before. The Mistress is likeable and real. The Sub does not bring too much baggage with him other every day life. A freelance programmer wants to finally see if his erotic interests in literature and fantasies translate into the real world. He makes requests to join both a private club and a Domme-for-hire business, choosing to give the “concierge service” option the first try. Love Kate and Alex. I relate to Alex. There is an added intimacy that they play in his bedroom and love his initial reaction when Kate brings out the hook. He gulped as she extracted a large metal hook from her duffle bag. For a split second, he thought about his safe-word. Kill switch. Kate looked at him and pursed her lips, her eyebrows coming together in a frown as she picked up on his fear. “Calm down.” Her smile soothed his panic away. “Stand up and turn around. Face me.” He did so, wincing as he straightened up. A few of his back muscles protested, not used to being in that position for so long. There wasn’t a workout routine to prepare for a spanking. At least none he’d heard of. Maybe a search online could turn up one. The disconnected thought pulled him back from the fear of not knowing what was next. “Don’t worry, Alex.” Kate went to the closet door in the hallway and opened it. She placed the hook on the top of the door and closed it, locking it in place. “It’s not going into you.” A sideways wink sent his heart racing. “Although there are options if you’d like to explore them. But we can discuss that later.” She returned to the duffle and pulled out a set of leather cuffs. He sucked in his breath at seeing them. It was one thing to see pictures, imagine having them on him, even buying a cheap set to play with by himself—another to see them in the hands of a professional. Kate held them in front of him. “The hook is going to hold you up while I flog that beautiful bare back.” She tilted her head to one side with a smile. “Since you don’t have an actual dungeon here, improvisation is the name of the game.” Includes: bondage, sensory deprivation, impact play, training on classic positions

I did not enjoy this book at all. The sub character was an asshole. Every time he should have been concerned or grateful or just a good person he was angry instead. He watched his domme go through some tough things but instead of empathy or gentleness he was focused on his masculine image. DNF It seemed like the writer (or character) felt they had to compensate for being a sub by being a mean person. Not comfortable in his masculinity at all

Not too bad of a read. Engaging and emotional, I definitely liked Alex the most because he figured out what he wanted and then he went for it with everything. The story was okay. I was also glad that this book was lighter on pain in general. I'm giving this book 3 stars instead of 4 only because the heroine was just too whiny and I couldn't at all feel bad for her and be sympathetic. Not too bad of a read. Good but not great, needed more. Most of the relationship building was skipped over. The gaming scene was cute and fun but not enough to base an entire relationship on to the point they're saying I love you. Good but not great, needed more. Most "fem-dom" books if the guy isn't being emasculated, raped are abused, book I only know from descriptions and stay away from but the good ones ( like this more or less) the guy has a good idea/reason of what he wants and why he wants it and he's going into with his eyes wide open and then can be some really amazing stories.. How hot is it was a strong sexy alpha male to know this is what he needs and has the strength to go after it, I find it beautiful and humbling he has a strong enough sense of self to not be weighted down by what he's to,d he's supposed want and goes for it... Plus I'm a woman who loves the idea of being in control like that from time to time sooooo ;) but Kate here ? She's just a Hot mess ;( Alex deserved a better Domme and just better overall woman than her... She starts off kinda whiney and very negative and downright paranoid at times ever perceived wrong not matter how slight has her going oooooo no I'm gonna get fired.. O nooooo :( Carl this and Carl that,I start to think Carl is a sub who died with her or was seriously injured, O No! Right, that made sense her confidence was shattered right ? A year later ? No, just a feminine cleansing product who dumped/cheated on her in a humiliating way.... Seriously ?!?! The way he did it was wrong and harsh but a year later she's falling in love with Alex getting him to fall in love with her and being a good Domme on minute and total chicken poop the next... Is a complete and total COWARD with her feelings with him, never has the nerve to even begin to admit " it's not you its Me" til the very End,where we've already had too many chapters of her mealy mouth whining all the while Alex is constantly trying to prove He good enough for her... BS!!! It should be the other way around,he even allows himself to be publicly flogged naked just to prove " his worthiness " ,even though it's her baggage that weighs down the entire story.. Even strong woman have their moments and their faults but Kate never even comes close to owning hers til long after they've ruined what could have been a much better story if she'd just been willing to grow the heck up,and maybe trust her instincts and her sub. Meh. The bones of the story are good - Domme and m sub meet when she is his paid Domme, fall in love. But I found the heroine annoying, the witting clunky. I wanted to sit down and smack her and then talk to her about the fact that she basically sulked for a year. The conflict that kept them apart felt manufactured. Bought from kobo.

Actually the first erotica I ever got from goodreads. I should not have asked for it. It is not badly written, it is just an unbelievable story of BDSM partners who fall in love. I don't think the author believes in the story herself. Actually the first erotica I ever got from goodreads. I should not have asked for it.
