    Buena antología, relatos de terror ambientados en climas calurosos, selvas tropicales, sitios húmedos donde la razón se embota, surgen alucinaciones y sobre todo, se encienden pasiones, principal hilo conductor entre la mayoría de las historias. Mi favorito, "Calcetines blancos" de Ian Watson, aventura sorprendente en el corazón de África, de lo mejor que he leído del autor. Mas locura que terror, me reí bastante con "Despertar" de Jack Dann & Barry Malzberg, y con las "Cabezas parlantes" de Geo Buena antología, relatos de terror ambientados en climas calurosos, selvas tropicales, sitios húmedos donde la razón se embota, surgen alucinaciones y sobre todo, se encienden pasiones, principal hilo conductor entre la mayoría de las historias. Mi favorito, "Calcetines blancos" de Ian Watson, aventura sorprendente en el corazón de África, de lo mejor que he leído del autor. Mas locura que terror, me reí bastante con "Despertar" de Jack Dann & Barry Malzberg, y con las "Cabezas parlantes" de George Alec Effinger. De autores nuevos, me gustó el estilo de Steve Rasnic Tem en "Monos macabros", y el sofocón ardiente que destila la prosa de Pat Cadigan en "Fue culpa del calor" (aunque de ella algo leí en "Mirrorshades" que no recuerdo). Quizás lo único malo, o tan raro que no se disfruta, es el cuento de Gene Wolfe. El resto hace de éste un libro más que recomendable. 17.7.2021

    A few decent stories, but mostly forgettable. Some of the stories had a slight taste of xenophobia to them, which I found off-putting. Notes on the stories to come.
