First wakeup call for a coffee noob I've always been working in finance and have zero experience in the coffee industry. Like many of us, I feel worn out at work and have developed a fantasy of making a living just sitting in my own little coffee shop and chill through the day with my lovely cat. After reading just the first few chapters, I realized that I am still really far away from that dream. I am seriously considering taking some coffee classes and boy, they are pretty costly. Definitely an eye opening book for me and I feel like I have a much better direction to work towards instead of just dreaming all the time. Very quick and easy read, very to the point with no useless materials to waste your time on. Highly recommended as a first book into the business! Of course you will need to read more books as you progress through your plans to get a more in depth understanding on the business. But this is definitely the perfect first book on the subject.

I used to day dream what it might be like to own a coffee shop since I spend so much time in them. I love to work and socialize in a good cafe. This book clued me in on all the details that happen in a coffee shop behind the scenes. I enjoyed learning about the equipment and how the best way would be to layout work floor to have everything in reach. The book covered everything from working capital, financing, replacing machines, and marketing. The content isn't highly detailed here but the business plan section alone is more than enough information to encourage you to imagine and plan your cafe. This is a good read and goes over much of what it has taken me years to learn by becoming a fixture in coffee shops. Mr. Joe

**I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway.** This book was short and clear about the instructions it offered, which is wonderful for a how-to book. It was easily understandable, even though I have little knowledge and experience about running a business and even less about the world of coffee shops. **I received a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Surprisingly enjoyable read. The section explaining business plans is particularly good. I'm probably not the intended audience for this book, but I learned a lot. **I received a copy of this book through a Goodreads giveaway. Surprisingly enjoyable read. Good starting point Good starting point for business research. Much of it common sense if you stopped to think about it, but definitely gets the juices flowing about the possibilities.
