Sebastian proves himself to be a man that is on the right side of the law, and being handy with fists and guns consistently enhances his chances of survival! He is definitely the Robin Hood of his area, as he has no problem settling any problem that may arise. This is the 12th book of The Texas Riders Series. This is the story of Sebastian & Bridget. Sebastian is a former gunslinger and he buys the land next to him from an older man who is going to retire. He hires Bridget as a housekeeper to look after Tim, the former owner, after he gets sick and couldn't leave his house. There is another man, Gilbert of the Kramer gang who wants to buy the ranch and settle down with his gang in Blackgate. This is where the action starts. I have to say that Joseph Powell tells all the gun fights in detail, and you feel it all as it transpires. He is an excellent writer and you can follow along easily. Through all of this Sebastian and Bridget fall in love and are married. I love happy endings. I have to say that Joseph Powell is my favorite western writer. Please read this book and this series if you can. You won't be disappointed.

This is another fantastic story by Joseph Powell! There is non-stop action from the beginning until the end. Shoot-outs are described in vivid detail so you can “see” them happening. This is the story of Sebastian and Bridget. A sweet love story among the chaos of the Old West. A wonderful read you won’t be able to put down! I received an advance copy of this book and I voluntarily wrote an honest review.

Another look over your shoulder western. Watch for flying bullets! Western justice is only tempered by knowing the local lawman! Lots of action and you never know where that next bullet will be coming from.

Good read, but had competitor's mistakes. Good read. Some places, the editor missed a couple of things....like putting Gilbert's name where Sebastions' name should have been.
