Cahira and Orion are twin monster hunters and their mentor is Senan who adopted them when they were seven years old. When they get attacked by the wither, Senan is sort of abducted by the wither and the twins start to follow the trail with the help of Senan's pet. They come across a lot of monsters near a village and kill them. They find out that the monsters were outside a girl's house named Atria. Atria tells them that she is cursed and she attracts the monsters. A fun graphic novel! I read this with a 4th grade student I was tutoring, and he was engaged and interested as we read it all in one sitting. Great art, too!

My 9 year old liked it. Illustrations are good. Here's what I liked. At the end of the book, there are quite a few pages about how the illustrator developed the characters outfits, hair, etc. The author shows how she developed the characters on paper and her tablet. She used nib pens and ink. The pet wolf, Wilkie, is cute. I wasn't impressed with the story line. It was so, so. And then this.... And something frustrating that this publisher did.....the last page has a marketing page for other graphic novel series that are not even related to the targeted age group. For example, they recommend the Zodiac Starforce which is not appropriate for her at this age.

Very cute and high energy. I never realized Minecraft wasn't only building and also had a questing/fighting component! Fun, humorous, and easy to follow, even for a Minecraft noob like me. Grabbed this graphic novel on a whim because of the artist and it didn't disappoint. Very cute and high energy. This was a joy to read! The art was great, and I was glad to see a comic that was written and drawn by one person! I really truly enjoyed the read, with all its comedy, action, and minecraftyness. One thing is I kinda found some of the tricks used a bit lazy. Like when two characters angrily stared at eachother the artist wrote in “eye contact standoff” to elaborate what was going on. I guess when the proofreaders were reading and didn’t understand, the artist decided to do that to make the scen This was a joy to read! Funny, cute and a lot of fun, and full of great jokes and details pertaining to Minecraft mechanics and gameplay. Though even with no knowledge of Minecraft, the story works on its own! There is even a nice message about conquering your fears and getting our of your house, perhaps unwise to suggest to the diehard Minecraft fans but may as well try! Just kidding, folks.
