A wonderful build off the first two books! The story progressed really well. It felt a bit slow and shallow once Gavin Cross finally steps into the role of Archmagister, but it was over quickly. It was exciting for as well to see Kiri finally step out into a more active roll towards the end, I hope that continues so she can develop into a more rounded character. With the ending of this book, there certainly is an opportunity for that, which has me very excited.

Both Mundane and Magnificent An interesting narrative that combines action with government minutiae, magic with jurisprudence, and justice with revenge. The ending is a real trip. *cough* Although different from past books it’s a good story and well worth reading, especially if you’re a fan of the series. If you haven’t read the series, start with book one, not this one. Recommended (15+)

The epitome of entertainment was our newly established Archmagister talking down to a god.. All of the work Gavin was implementing to completely overhaul the entirety of Tel's governing body, while reinstituting old alliances lost to time. I'm honestly not surprised about what transpired in regards to Tauron. Though, honestly, the depth of corruption not only within Tel's ruling family and agents, but throughout the Society, Council, Battle-mages, and Conclave is such a shock. We were introduced to more fantastical races within this magical world. From the towering giants, and dwarves of stone and metal, to the Druids of the Elves. These introductions obviously case with some initial friction, not the least involving the dark elves within their society. It's still difficult to determine where the webs of machinations connect between all of these orders of nefarious purpose. This next book is going to be so intrinsically different compared to the rest of the series. While Gavin is working through his situation, I hope we have narrative changes to account for the happenings in his absence.

Excellent again Thoroughly enjoyed this next step in Gavins journey and what a twist to the ending!!! This is so well written and paced that I find the books hard to put down as it flows along and is full of story and no filling out with unnecessary guff. Gavins morals I feel are what we’d all like to see in the world and the author allows them to come out without deteriorating the story or preaching to the reader. So I for one can’t wait to see what happens next. Enjoy 😁

Unique in the sense that mortality was added to all of Gavins actions. Strong character established in hero but rest of cast had a lot to be desired. Author let us down by having Gavin look like a moron in some instances but otherwise looking forward to see conclusion . See it’s even hard to be perfect in writing fantasy.

Great Read, Great Series With little preamble, Gavin steps into the role of Archmagister. He has to tune up a few people who haven't clued into who he is and what he does. He and Tel are attacked on two fronts. Kiri comes into her own when she comes to Tel to protect Gavin. I like the action, humor, and unresolved romance. I look forward to the next book. Great action I really enjoyed the series so far. Gavins' character is incredibly diverse. I am inspired by his kindness. Easy interesting read. Magic in overdrive is pretty much what I loved. The author keeps the story moving in each book. All of the other characters are just as interesting as the protagonist. Give me more! Great action I really enjoyed the series so far. A Trip to truth. Finally, an author who can build a story. Well paced. Descriptive history and life. I am still amazed at authors refusing to give their characters real life emotions and interactions but hopefully that changes going forward. This book does well on the story telling. I hope it continues.

This author never seems to let the reader down. I take that back.... I am disappointed that I have to wait for the next installment to come out. This author creates a great set of characters in an incredible world and proceeds to make them interact in a dramatic, humorous, interesting way.

Pretty Good Good overall story, but the plot seems to skim over things that should be important, such as a killing of a royal that STILL hasn't seemed to bother anyone... but a good magic system and interesting story all the same. The archmagister This book is amazing and very well written! The author is very skilled at taking you to the picture and satisfying any curiosity that may spring forth as you read on. I absolutely recommend this title and the previous two before. You will not be upset!

What the heck are the gods up to? Bellow made Gavin the Archmagister. Drannos gets involved in his love life. Valthon drops Gavin in a new world, then spirits him away just as the necromancer rages! What happened to Kiri?

Good story, surprise ending I enjoyed this addition to the series. It was interesting to watch the main character take on the new role that the gods had bestowed upon him. The ending surprised me and I can't wait to read the next book in the series. Good story, surprise ending I enjoyed this addition to the series. Bring on the Elves Some more traditional characters in this one. Giants, Dwarfs and Elves but watch out for the Dark Elves. Add a Necromancer to the group
