This did not blow my mind because I expected a totally new story in that same world but it starts with Victor and Eli's story which we know from the main series and then follows Charlotte and her trial to take control of her life -or death- and meeting a few EO on the way. That being said, it was cool to see characters we already know come to life with the illustrations. As always, I will read whatever Schwab comes out with next!

This book didnt have that much actual content for me either and I felt if you hadn't read Vicious then you would be a bit confused. I wasn't a huge fan of the artwork either, I can appreciate it but it just wasnt the style I like. Overall it felt like old news rehashed into something lesser than the original.

I am complete trash for anything in the Villains world. While I wasn't sure where Schwab was going to go with this one, I was extremely happy with what we got. In ExtraOrdinary we meet Charlotte, a young girl who has died and come back with extra powers. But her power isn't something that she wants. I mean, who wants to see how people die in their reflections all of the time? Along the way she meets some other EO's and forms a bond. I really enjoyed getting to know Charlotte and following her on her journey. But let me be honest, I LIVED for the flashbacks with Eli and Victor. I loved how Schwab weaved their tale into this one to make it flow seamlessly and connect. I am so happy that we are getting more in this world and cannot wait to see what else Schwab has in store for us!

Reading this graphic novel was basically just a fan girl experience for me. Vicious is my all time favorite book and when we were blessed with Vengeful a few years ago I thought it was the best thing ever UNTIL this graphic novel was announced. My love for extraordinaries meeting with my love for graphic novels is truly top tier literature for me. Being able to see parts of Vicious depicted in this graphic novel was such a wonderful surprise. I found this to be great because it means readers who haven’t read the book can read the graphic novel without too much confusion, but you really should read both because it would make much more sense and be more enjoyable. More importantly though, I got to see Eli and Victor come to life and that was more than I ever wished for. Overall this graphic novel was outstanding. The new characters were all amazing and I desperately want to see of Felix, a badass nonbinary EO, and Mia! I will say that the cliffhanger at the end was jaw dropping and I absolutely cannot wait for more! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book!

Charlotte is your typical teenage girl attending high school and taking it one day at a time. After a car accident while on the way to a museum for a field trip, she suffers life-threatening injuries. This brush with death has made her an EO -- an ExtraOrdinary, with powers to see how people will die in reflective surfaces. When she faces her own death, she decides to intervene with her "fate" and hunt down the man she sees who is responsible for her death. Overall, I enjoyed the concept of this graphic novel, and I could definitely tell the plot was based on a novel rather than a standalone comic. I did wish there was a bit more character development, but that's a familiar feeling for me with the graphic format. But the concept of how EOs obtain their powers and the motivation of the villain was interesting, and I'll likely read the actual book series after. The illustrations and font were well done as well, with only mild confusion in some of the more action-packed scenes. The most climactic scene ended too abruptly, which let me down a bit at the last minute. Nonetheless, I'll keep reading this series, and check out the fully written version.

ExtraOrdinary was a refreshing welcome back into the Villains universe. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I was reading it. I loved Charlie and her abilities were absolutely haunting. The length of the graphic novel doesn't tend to lend itself well to fleshed out arcs - but I loved how Schwab managed to explore the nuances and complicated aspects of Charlie's powers. How she coped with seeing her own death but others and what she did about it. All in all, loved this and now I might end ExtraOrdinary was a refreshing welcome back into the Villains universe. I'm obsessed with anything that V.E. Schwab creates and this comic is no exception. I recently finished reading Vengeful and I've been really missing the Villain's series since then, so this book was the perfect way to calm my withdrawal symptoms. This is a must-read for fans of Vicious, with many references to the series littered throughout the pages. This comic fits nicely in between book one and two, while adding a lot of extra details to the main characters. The graphics were stunning, but als I'm obsessed with anything that V.E. Charlotte was an extremely likeable main character from the start. I also loved how her power was visualised on the page and how it worked so well alongside the story we know already so well. I got through this comic very quickly as I found it impossible to put down once I'd begun reading it. If you're a fan of V.E. Schwab you're going to absolutely love this! Thank you so much to the publishers for sending me a copy!

I really like this world. Remember that first time you watched an X-men movie and realised just how huge the imagination can be that we can create almost any ability and incorporate it into a fantastical character? The potential is staggering, and Schwab totally capitalises on that brilliance. I found myself quite confused by the staggering number of covers within this graphic novel series, but I think this book encompasses all of those small releases and compiles them into one collection. The potential is staggering, and Schwab totally capitalises on that brilliance. I found myself quite confused by the staggering number of covers within this graphic novel series, but I think this book encompasses all of those small releases and compiles them into one collection. Woven perfectly together, they tell the tale of Charlotte - a recently formed EO who has the ability to see the death of a person in a reflection. Including her own death. This leads her to Eli, who she has seen is responsible for her future demise, and two EO’s determined to help her prevent that. The illustrations are fantastic - a perfect combination of grim, dark and vibrant (basically everything you want in a knock off Marvel story I suppose, in the best way possible!). I particularly appreciated that you actually were forced to look at the illustrations because Charlotte’s ability manifested in reflections so often wasn’t written in the text. Whilst I always endeavour to appreciate the illustrations, once you get lost in a story it’s easy not to, so that was a great touch. I just love this world, the endless opportunity for it to expand and grow, and I hope that more stories manifest themselves into this graphic novel format alongside some new and exciting EO’s.

I loved being back in this universe! I'll admit, I decided to not read too much about what this was about so when I started it I was very confused but after I got into it I was intrigued. Corruption and confusion ensue as she learns who can and can't be trusted but when she learns she's in danger... she has a lot to think about. This was short but exciting to see the beginning of what might come. I loved the illustrations a lot. All beautifully done and helped bring this world to life perfectly. Graphic Novels are hard for me sometimes since I'm usually just used to more but I thought that Charlie's journey to where we end up by the end of the book was enough to peak my interest. Very excited to see what's to come! Thank you to NetGalley and Titan Comics for the ARC in exchange for an honest review

ExtraOrdinary shows us a much-wanted glimpse into what happened between the events of Vicious and Vengeful and I loved Charlotte and the group that she fell in with, despite how briefly we saw them. It was so refreshing to learn about EOs outside of our main group who have been trying to survive in the wake of Eli's killings and EON's emergence as a major threat and it really helped to flesh out the world that we already know and love. This is a great addition to the 'Villians' series. I do feel like it could easily be extended as there are multiple ways the story could progress between the storyline of the two current books. The Artwork/colouring/inking are excellent. The character design for the Eli and Victor are very close to what I imagined reading the books. Its definitely worth your time if you like the series but I don't think it would work as well as a standalone. This is a great addition to the 'Villians' series.
