Nick has loved straight Matt for years, and neither has dated much. This Christmas is with Nick's rowdy, nosey family, and some truths are brought to light. Getting drunk leads to loose lips for Nick's Dad, and then Nick, too. Nick speaks freely and they try a kiss, which rocks Matt's soul. After his deep thoughts, and some conversation, he know the truth of Nick's true feelings, and he's not afraid. Love it ! Terrific story, where we see past characters from the team, and revel in the newest events, but this can stand alone. First time m/m for Matt, totally hot sexiness, and dynamic characters make us happy readers. The plot flows well and we get all the emotion, passion and Christmassy stuff we love. I highly recommend this awesome romance and epilogue. ENJOY ! ======

This was a really sweet and sexy Christmas romance. I loved the friendship between Matt and Nick and it was lovely watching them discover they could be more. While Nick has known for a long time that he is in love with his best friend, Matt has never even contemplated being with a man, let alone Nick. Im not sure this is how it works too often in the real world, but it would be nice if gender and sexuality weren't such a big issue. I enjoyed Nick's two younger sisters, they were good fun and I liked the way they were there for their brother and for Matt. A really enjoyable read. The chemistry together is just outstanding Matt doesn’t mind that Nick likes to put his hand on his shoulder or his neck they both know what they thinking and read each other like a book. It’s just such a shame that Matt can’t see what’s right in front of him. Matt has never really had much of a family around him so when Nick introduced him to his family, they kind of adopted him it was just amazing. It wasn’t until he join the team that he really felt like part of the family but him and Nick had always been close and Matt knew he could rely on him for anything. If something happened to Matt that day the first person he would call would be Nick, if Matt had news it would be Nick he called always always Nick. Matt was hoping the team will get together for Christmas as they hadn’t been together for a few years but that wasn’t to be so Nick invited him to spend Christmas with his family and Matt knew he couldn’t say no and he didn’t want to anyway but what was a shock was he found out about Nick's feelings. How would Matt feel knowing that Nick was in love with him?? Could Matt be with a man? How would Nick respond knowing that Matt knew the biggest secret he had kept from Matt? I was hooked from the very first chapter of this book I instantly liked Matt and Nick and I just wanted them both to be happy and and for Matt to feel what was right in front of him and for it to work out. This book is a dream to read it was just bliss and my heart was so full of love for these two utterly utterly divine. I am super excited to see what Romeo Alexander has next install for us. This is the 5th book in the Men of Fort Dale series and the first book that I have read in this series. This is Matt and Nick's story. Both are ex members of Team Maelstrom and best friends. Both are still in the military but not working together any longer. Their best friend relationship is as strong as ever. Matt has no family except for his military family. Over the years Nick has brought him home with him to celebrate holidays and Nick's family now considers Matt part of the family. Nick is directed by his mom to come home for Christmas and bring Matt with him. Matt readily accepts the invitation and off they go. Little do they know how much this vacation will change their relationship. I loved the interaction and chemistry between Matt and Nick. Already being best friends, they had a much stronger base for a deeper relationship than most. Although each is in love with the other, neither takes any action which might jeopardize their friendship which they value so much. So that is where the meddling family comes in. Sometimes we all need a push. This is a very well written story that I enjoyed very much. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I loved the relationship between Matt and Nick, particularly the way they balance each other and look out for each other: Nick protects Matt from the crowds he doesn't much like, for example, and Matt knows how to battle Nick's insomnia and how to keep him out of his own head when he most needs it. I wasn't as wild about some of Nick's family members-- without spoilers, it's difficult to say too much, but a definite sour note in this novel for me was the way Matt found out about Nick's feelings, which represented a massive, massive betrayal of trust from someone who should have known better. I would have liked to see there be more repercussions for that than there were, tbh, because family or no, Christmas or no, some stuff just isn't ok. That said, all in all this is an enjoyable, low angst read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

He grew up in foster care, so having Nick’s family to share as his own is very much appreciated. He wasn’t expecting to find out the truth of Nick’s feelings, however. How will he react when he discovers Nick has been in love with him for all these years? For that matter, how will Nick react to finding that Matt has felt the same way? How will they respond to this new information while surrounded by the other family members? Will the family be happy for them or totally surprised? This was a comfortable story with two characters who were already close and cared for each other. Little did they know that it wouldn’t take much to turn simple camaraderie into the actual love both of them felt. The story line is well-paced – well, not the 10 years that passed maybe – and the characters were definitely likable. Grab your copy and head for the Lodge!

I was so happy to be back with the handsome men of Fort Dale. It was great catching up with Team Maelstrom. This book is 3 years on from when we first met them in; Trust Me, I hate you. He knows when Matt is uncomfortable in a situation and helps him through it. I was so hoping they would get a story of their own and I wasn't disappointed. Nick's family is amazing and they support them both so much. They gave them the push they needed to sort their heads out. I loved that Matt only had a little panic when he found out about Nick loving him and then he accepts it. After that the story is so amazing seeing them coming together as lovers instead of just best friends. Just wish this series would never end. On a side note I was so happy to see that General Winters married Christian. I was so happy! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The unwitting conspiracy between family members to get them together is amusing and sweet. Thus story will definitely put a smile on your face.

I really liked their connection, and I was a fan of the whole unrequited love situation going on for Nick. Because turns out that it might not be so hopeless for Nick after all... There is friendship and love, family and betrayal, and a healthy dose of drama for good measure. But all in all, Nick and Matt's story is a sweet and wholesome romance with a great HEA.

I love the Port Dale series and it just keeps getting better. Long time friends Nick and Matt become even closer in this new book. Secrets are revealed during a Christmas vacation that both men take to spend the holiday with Nick's family. Both men value their friendship but will they be willing to take it a step farther and become lovers as well? If you enjoyed the other men of the Port Dale series then you must read this one too. Guaranteed sweet, surprise heat included in this book! I love the Port Dale series and it just keeps getting better. Long time friends Nick and Matt become even closer in this new book. I can hear the Christmas music with this book and it is wonderful. The two best friends on the Maelstrom Team have found true love after a decade of friendship. Nick has help telling his BFF that he wants him as more than a friend. Matt finds out and instead of freaking out he decides to embrace their new relationship. The two have some hot and sexy scenes you don't want to miss as they take their new love on a test drive! I can hear the Christmas music with this book and it is wonderful. My Kind of Christmas is the 5th book in the series and follows the story of two military men, Nick and Matt that realize that they might not be as straight as they thought. Their friendship turns to romance and Christmas gets a lot more interesting. The book can be read as a standalone, but the series is so good that you would want to read all 5 books. The characters are well written and the books are an excellent read. Reread 2: I like this book more and more the more I reread it. It's so sweet and cozy. It has the best pining ever - Nick has a quiet, hopeless, absolutely unrequited (until...) love for his best friend Matt. I love how quiet he keeps it - even with all the jokes about them being suspiciously close. I also love the one-sided nature, I enjoy dual pining but single pining is *chef kiss*. Very solidly a four star now. ----- Reread: A++ for pining, so well done! ----- Original review: I think this is my Reread 2: I like this book more and more the more I reread it. The plot moved along at a nice pace alongside the romance (okay the romance is the plot obviously, but the background plot functioned well as its scaffolding) The pining was A+ for a shorter book - get that unrequited yearning boys. It took a while for it to all come out and begin the together part of the romance (aka its a slow burn imo) but it wasn't lacking in emotional/character development prior to it all coming out, so it was a nice slow burn. I'd call it a 3.5 stars I think, maybe 3.75 but I don't really do fractions that small so why am i saying that fine it's 4 stars rounded up

Their team – Team Maelstrom – has been in some tight spots. They lost a team member while overseas and they near lost their leader and each other. But they pulled through. Now they’ve been disbanded, but Matt and Nick are still together, albeit in different jobs, still at Fort Dale together. But Nick has a secret. He’s been in love with Matt for some time, but he’ll settle for his best friend rather than lost him. As Christmas approaches, Nick’s mother insists that he join the family. And of course that means Matt too, because as soon as Nick’s family met Matt, he was adopted into the family as well. So what that people have sometimes thought that there was more than friendship between Matt and Nick. They know the score. They are best friends – though thick and thin -and nothing will change that. Nothing will come between them. It seems that Nick’s family is aware of his feelings, however, and so Nick is on pins and needles a bit since his mother and sisters seem to be taking particular pleasure in trying to get him to confess his feelings to Matt. But Nick is an overthinker and he’s well aware that he would risk everything if Matt couldn’t handle it. So of course Nick’s family takes that decision out of his hands 🙂 And boy is Nick unhappy about that. Thankfully it seem that maybe Matt is not so unhappy about it. Stunned maybe. But the more he thinks about it, the more sense it actually makes. Merry Christmas and more to everybody 😀 What a nice holiday story to listen to! I was so busy in December that I didn’t get a chance to even check that this was out and so it was nice to catch up with this audiobook. I’ve like this series and the previous story about Team Maelstrom (Trust Me, I Hate You) was particularly compelling watching the team try to recover from the loss of their team member. Nick and Matt and the rest of the guys had to dig deep and then come together to support each other in their new configuration and while it wasn’t easy, they did it. IDespite how different Nick and Matt seemed from the outside, they were so supportive and strong and caring with each other. Nick never wanted Matt to be uncomfortable and Matt never wanted to push Nick when he wasn’t ready to talk – he let him marinate this thoughts. I loved Nick’s family whole family – especially his bossy mother and meddling sisters and his cleverly sly father 😉 Luckily it all worked out for the best. As usual Michael Ferraiuolo did a great job bringing Nick and Matt to life. The many voices of Nick’s family provided a lot of counterpoints to the story. The humor and teasing and cajoling added a lot of life to punch to this slightly fraught tale of an unrequested life and maybe wasn’t that unrequited after all 😉 Well done! And if you’re looking for a little Christmas spirit here in May, I definitely recommend this little gem.

Wonderful Story & Listen! A Delightful Gem for Anytime of the Year! My Kind of Christmas Men of Fort Dale, Book 5 By: Romeo Alexander Narrated by: Michael Ferraiuolo This is a wonderful friends to lovers romance. I am not sure how, but this is my first book written by Romeo Alexander, it will definitely not be my last. I am not sure how, but this is my first book written by Romeo Alexander, it will definitely not be my last. I enjoyed his writing style, the characters and storylines he created are interesting, realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. This book is Nick and Matt’s story, it is my first time meeting them and I never felt lost since I had not read or listened to the earlier book in the series. I was able to enjoy this as a standalone, I did wish list the previous books in the series mainly because I enjoyed this one so much. Nick and Matt, best friends, both have careers in the military and have been by each other’s side since serving. Nick has been in love with Matt but has refrained from sharing that with him since Matt is in to women and not men. Nick comes for a large family and since Matt has none they take him in too and both go to celebrate the holidays with Nick’s family. With some family intervention their holiday vacation turns in to more. I loved how everything played out in this book, the sweet and delightful story is beautifully plotted with drama, some humor, heartfelt and emotional moments and a great romance. Romeo Alexander, thank you for this wonderful story and emotional rollercoaster ride. I highly recommend this entertaining and enjoyable story any time of the year! 🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Michael Ferraiuolo is a talented narrator and a versatile voice artist. He brings these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice which makes it easy to follow along and tell how is how. He does an awesome job portraying the characters, grasping their persona and sounding just as I am picturing them to sound. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for the fabulous listen🎧

A Gift at Christmastime The holiday season almost always makes people think of warmth and togetherness and, yes, love. And, to paraphrase a line from a Christmas classic - "Maybe some gifts don't come from a store..." . Such a gift is the friendship between Matt and Nick. The other members of Team Maelstrom had a running joke that they were more like brothers than teammates. It wasn't uncommon for them to practically finish each other's sentences...to be able to say more to each other with just a look than others could with a lengthy conversation...and to have each other's backs no matter what - against the whole world, if necessary. People who didn't know them personally sometimes assumed that they were a couple - and while that wasn't the case, it didn't stop one of them from thinking about what it might be like if it somehow could come true. People often say that miracles happen at Christmastime. And, if it takes someone partaking of a little too much "holiday cheer" to set a miracle in motion, then so be it. For Matt and Nick, it sometimes seems like there had never been a time when they hadn't thought of themselves as "just us" .But, when a drunken slip of the lip reveals more than they might have been ready to think about - and certainly to talk about - what happens next? Will they still be "just us" ? Can they still be? Not every Christmas gift can be "just what you've always wanted" - but sometimes they turn out to be just what you've always needed...

I loved that Nick’s Family basically adopted Matt into their family after the first time meeting him when they found out he has no family apart from their team. I also loved how much Matt loves Christmas, Nick is anti it but fully tolerates it for Matt. He even brought their custom made Christmas stockings to hang up for Christmas Day in their luggage as he knew Matt would be disappointed that he didn’t bring them. You can just feel all the emotions that each MC is feeling throughout the book. I was completely hooked with this book from start to finish and I couldn’t put it down. I’d definitely recommend this book, series & author to anyone.
