I liked this one too, although a bit less than the previous one. Not because the story isn't good enough, because, believe me, it is. But because I had a bit of a problem with Aldous Crane. Yes, Tammy is not a nice person, and what is happening she brought unto herself. And I get that he is angry with her. But I still didn't like him ribbing her all the time. He has agreed to help her, so maybe he could do just that? But other than that this is a great story with an unexpected twist that I really I liked this one too, although a bit less than the previous one. Now, to read the next one, because that cliffhanger? That was evil *laughs*

Be Careful What You Wish For... No spoilers. 4 stars. In book 2 of this series Prof. Aldous Crane is called again at about 3 a.m. by Tammy Wynne, the professional psychic and medium from the first novella... This time Tammy needs his help. She never really believed in life beyond the veil of death but now... ...something had found a hole in that veil and it had slipped through... As was her unseemly practice, Tammy sold her entire collection of wishing bones to the grieving owner of Samhain Occult B Be Careful What You Wish For... No spoilers. 4 stars. As was her unseemly practice, Tammy sold her entire collection of wishing bones to the grieving owner of Samhain Occult Bookshop, who had recently lost his wife... ... Tammy had unwisely assured the man who owned a vast collection of medieval grimoires and spell books specifically used in necromancy... ... that using the bones would resurrect his dead wife... The wishing bones were said to be bones of the ram Abraham sacrificed in place of his son Isaac in the Bible... ... breaking just one of the bones will enable a wish, any wish, to be granted... this applied to each individual bone... and she sold the man all 26 bones... This quick money scheme backfired on Tammy and now something evil is after her and she is relying on Aldous to rescue her... Be careful what you wish for... I am really enjoying this series of paranormal novellas about the investigative cases of Prof. Aldous Crane. I liked the first book just a little bit better but both are excellent stories with an unexpected twist at the end.

This is the second book in this series as always don't read at night unless you want bad dreams that I have when I read Marc Layton books. This is a continuing story of what is get to come with these believable characters!Tammy being a medium for over 30 years, that was just a act, good way to make easy money until tonight she sees some thing that scares her to death and really,is this real? I thoroughly enjoyed the first 3 books. I was pleasantly surprised because the books were not very Lon. Boy was I wrong. The writing had me from page one and only got better. I am having trouble saying how much I liked them, the characters and the stories. They were great. I can hardly wait for the 4th one. Keep on writing. You are my newest favorite author.

In the second story of the Investigative Horror Series, The Wishing Bones brings back Tammy Wynne, a fake psychic and medium. Aldous Crane is no fan of this fraud, but what is haunting her will definitely require his help. The characters are great and the story does not disappoint. A riveting, chilling tale. I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believeable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building that adds so much to the story. Such a thrilling read that I couldn't put it down. Can't wait to read more of these. Recommend reading. This is a wonderful addition to this thrilling series! I love this series! Although a little short Marc Layton never fails in delivering a book worth reading. A psychic, (not a psychic), gets a real taste of the afterlife. A must read
