Each of her books was written in Hebrew and as they became best sellers in Israel she decided to have them translated into English to benefit an even broader range of children. As always Sigal's rhyming style is delightful. This new book is not only entertaining but also carries messages to those children fortunate enough to read them - or have them read to them. The books are enhanced by the excellent illustrations by Pixel Ink Studio. Those who follow Sigal Adler know that she offers a meaningful commentary about the importance of reading and the use of rhyme to bring the love of reading to play in children who are challenged by reading or discouraged about learning to read. ‘Children with dyslexia, for instance, find it much easier to understand words when they rhyme rather than dissecting them into letters and syllables.’ In this book, HOW TO SLEEP WITH COWARDLY SHEEP, we meet one of Sigal’s perky little monsters – ‘That night the little monster couldn’t sleep, too many thoughts, took him with a sweep. The room was dark, he was all alone, it wasn’t much fun to be on his own. When he told his parents he couldn’t sleep, they suggested he tried counting some sheep. “Just try to relax and all you need to do, is simply count the sheep in front of you.” Little monster acknowledges the suggestion, even though he finds sheep boring (and maybe that will make him snooze!), but no sheep appear because they are cowardly, and the frustrated little monster shares his problem with his parents. His dad states, ‘Regular sheep are not for little monsters like you, the sheep you count have to be monster-ish too!’ And sure enough, monster sheep begin to appear and manage to make little monster drift off to sleep. This is another wonderful children’s book, beautifully written in magical rhyme and related with terrific illustrations - Very Highly Recommended.

An awesome book cover, great hand-drawn colored pictures, charming illustrations & proper font & writing style. A very professionally written children’s (preschool/elementary age) storybook. It was quite easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters, settings, etc. to keep track of. This could also make another great children’s educational presentation, movie, an animated cartoon, or better yet a mini-TV series. It was just OK for me so I will only rate it at 4/5 stars. Great Story My 5 yo daughter has a hard time falling asleep. I thought I would read her this book to show her that others also have trouble . She, like the little monster tried counting sheep. It didn't work. After reading this book, she decided next time she can't sleep, she'll try counting dragon sheep. I would recommend this book to anyone that has a child that has trouble sleeping. This story by Signal Adler book is imaginative and unique. Who would ever think about counting cowardly sheep? Such a delight and the illustrations are fascinating. Monster was having a hard time sleeping. His Mom and Dad told him to count sheep and he would soon fall asleep. Did this work? Something came up and looked at him. Enjoy this terrific book in the Monster Series.

Sleep Great book for helping little kids calm down and go to sleep. It also is a wonderful addition to the series helping kids understand that being different isn't bad.
