Best in the series! If you like action and edge of the seat excitement, this book is for you. If you like getting into the hero’s head and understanding her motives and fears, then this book is for you. If you like fantastical kingdoms and mythical creatures, then this book is for you! Melinda Chase has it all covered and done a fantastic job. I read it in a day only because I couldn’t put it down. Shannon McCarthy’s courage and even her courageously sharing her fears and doubts will stay with me Best in the series! If you like action and edge of the seat excitement, this book is for you. Shannon saves Faerie again. Not my favorite in the series. Shannon feels guilty over things she shouldn't. She and Hunter are more at odds in this book. As usual she tries to leave everyone and take all the risk away from every one. That always drives me nuts. They are a team. You are stronger with everyone. If it wasn't for Ri she would have totally been lost. She never thinks things out before she does them. I loved the new characters Onto and Ash. Great idea making them dark fae. Intensely explosive Finding a way to reopen the veil and get back where they came from was turning out more dangerous than they had previously imagined. Layered in heartache and tears they fought their way back only to find the Shannon was still being chased. They've all come so far in helping to restore the fae realm and learning about their abilities, but looks as if they still have a way to go to a happily ever after. In the 7th installment, we find Shannon and her halfling friends meet up with all sorts of beings, good, bad and ugly, as they continue to save the Fae kingdom and find the opening in the Veil to go home. This story is layered in heartache and tears as they fought their way back only to find the Shannon was still being chased. They've all come so far in helping to restore the Fae realm and learning about their abilities. I am waiting for the last book- 8. Shannon In order to find how to open the veil, they have to go thru the dark forest and into the mountain. They fly there on the pegasi. There they meet dark fae trying to get thru the veil to start a new life. They helped the halflings defeat monsters and get into the mountain.

Great addition The story is moving along nicely and each book reveals more details about the overall story line. The characters are a bit choppy in spots, but overall I like the story

Opening the Veil Dangers and death are in the way of finding out how to reopen the Veil. Surprises await them. And the council is still trying to kill them. A happy for now ending. Best to read the series.

Bad. Very bad The heroine, said grudgingly, started out the series “meh”. Maybe she’ll get better? NO If it doesn’t revolve around her, it doesn’t matter. But it’s portrayed as if she is a strong 40 year old who is only going to get better. Not true.

There's more! So glad there is more to come. I have become quite attached to these characters and their stories. This is quite a universe. There's more! So glad there is more to come. I have become quite attached to these characters and their stories. This is quite a universe.

Awesome It was awesome but to short. It should have more to the Mountain scenes. And when they deal with things.

The good books are always too short. This was one of the shorter ones. I enjoyed reading it and I will be waiting anxiously for the next book in this series.

Loved it! I got pulled into this story like the characters stepping through the veil. It transported me to the land of fae and kept me hostage until I finished.

So slow. I can't make myself finish it and I really enjoyed the earlier books in the series. So slow. I can't make myself finish it and I really enjoyed the earlier books in the series.
