Ms. Maher has written another fantastic story that kept me glued to the pages. Seriously, I started the book this morning and didn't put it down until I finished it. The characters are all awesome and I'm looking forward to getting to know them better as the series progresses. Jules was really a great heroine as she never gave up throughout the training and the dramatic skirmish near the end. I'm looking forward to May when the next book arrives. Champagne Witches is the first book in a BRAND-NEW series by Tegan Maher. Jules is the kick a** heroine in the story, and she is recently divorced after catching her husband cheating on her. She packs it up and heads to Florida to start a new life. What Jules doesn't know is that she is magical and very POWERFUL, not only as a witch but as a woman. She is no longer Jules the doormat. The plot in this book is perfectly paced with a healthy dose of romance between Jules and sexy Alpha shifter Ronan. Champagne Witches is the first book in a BRAND-NEW series by Tegan Maher. This may seem like the usual plot of 'woman cheated on by husband of 20+ years, empty nester, and need to start over' but Tegan Maher has given it more heart and depth with several surprising twists. There she finds not only a way of life she didn't know she needed but strange things start happening to her. This seemingly powerless, friendless woman finds she has both. But with power, there's always a battle to fight and rarely time to prepare. This is going to be a wonderful series with a somewhat different slant to both the story and the non-intrusive but very important, slightly funny romantic angles. Different from Ms. Maher's other series but just as enjoyable and intriguing. I love seeing her grow as an author and try new things. This one really works

I enjoy Tegan Maker's books. This one was a bit off the weirdness chart. It was a quick read that got weird quickly! Jules Cavanaugh, devoted wife, and mother of two boys, has just become an empty nester. After dropping off her youngest son at college, she arrives home and finds her horribly insensitive husband with the secretary, Bubbles. After her husband and his hot young thing exit, Jules contacts her best friends who come to both console and celebrate. Soon, Jules decides that it is time to move on, and with the support of her friends, she packs up a few things, leaves a wake of household destruction, and Jules Cavanaugh, devoted wife, and mother of two boys, has just become an empty nester. After dropping off her youngest son at college, she arrives home and finds her horribly insensitive husband with the secretary, Bubbles. After her husband and his hot young thing exit, Jules contacts her best friends who come to both console and celebrate. Soon, Jules decides that it is time to move on, and with the support of her friends, she packs up a few things, leaves a wake of household destruction, and then heads to Coastal Florida in her new sports car. Awaiting her in Coast Florida is a bar that she inherited from her estranged father. Jules' presence is met with curiosity and suspicion, for not even the bartender, her father's closest confidante, knew of Jules' existence. This is not by chance. There is a reason her father has been elusive, and Jules soon discovers just how deep her roots run. A coming-of-age story often focuses on a teen or pre-teen. This story challenges that concept. Jules becomes the person that she is meant to be; one who is much stronger and wiser and it does not matter that she is in her forties; she rises from the ashes of her marriage and can unconsciously summon storms. She is far more powerful than she realizes and that makes her a threat, as well as places her in danger because she is vulnerable. I almost wished that I had not devoured this book so quickly because the second book has not been released. Yikes! But, I am patient and doubt that I will forget any of the characters, especially that hellhound!

Done it again... Tegan Maher has done it again!! But it doesn't surprise me at all, I don't think she can write a bad book! I'm loving the change in this one with the older woman that's the main character and a little bit more of sexy scenes. It was also kinda nice to step away from murder mysteries for a bit. Also I had a connection with Jules getting closer to that 50 mark and being divorced because of a cheating husband. Anyway, I'm not one to give stories away but I will tell you this is another great story and the first of a new series that you won't be disappointed from! I highly recommend it (and seriously any of her books because I just love her that much)!!

Great new series!! This is Tegan's first foray into the Magic Midlife books and it's a more traditional length and not a cozy. However, it is fantastic! It's not a typical woe is me tale, though the first bit is sad. Seriously, I can't understand guys like that. I know it's a common trope, but it's based on reality and it gives us dudes a bad name. Lol. It doesn't take long for our heroine to decide to take matters into her own hands and live her life. It's fast paced, good action, a little rom Great new series!! Love it! Tegan Maher does it again, with a twist. Champagne Witches is not a cozy mystery. Instead it is a hilarious romp through the topsy turvy life of a middle aged, just got an empty nest, life goes to heck in a hand basket, woman named Jules. I enjoy all of the series Tegan Maher writes but this one is my new favourite. The tree with the animals in it is awesome for the chapter break, too.

Very entertaining I’ve been reading Texan Maher’s books for quite awhile and she never disappoints. This new series really speaks to me because the main character is a bit older and she’s starting her life over. I love that she’s introduced to magic at this stage in her life. The characters are believable, which can be tricky when living in a magical world, and the story is very interesting. I highly recommend this series and all of her books!

I’ve read several books in this genre from other authors and while I enjoyed the story lines I was never really invested in the characters or their stories. Tegan Maher’s first attempt in this genre, in my opinion, knocks it out of the park. I am fully invested in the characters and the storyline and can’t wait for the next book in the series to find out what happens next.

Awesome series debut What a wonderful main character Jules is! And how lovely to have a woman pushing 50 become a kick-ass sexy heroine who copes with setbacks and revelations as well as she deals with her midlife self.
