I grabbed Seasoned Magic because Colleen Helme is one of the authors and naturally I started with her contribution. I got just what I wanted; License to Steal is an excellent addition to the Shelby Nichols series and I LOVE that series. I am still reading stories between other novels and the five that I have read all bring something unexpected to really good stories by authors I enjoy.

In License To Steal (A Shelby Nichols Novella) by Colleen Helme, Shelby’s on the case to find a stolen figurine, and with Ramos and Uncle Joey’s help, she can’t fail to solve this mystery. It’s another intriguing adventure that you won’t want to miss! I also look forward to reading the other stories in this book.

This review is for the Morgana Best story titled: Sixty, Sassy and Sleuthing. This story is a prequel to her paranormal cozy mystery series, Colt Calling Horse Rescue Mysteries. Ms. Best is an Australian writer so you may, if you are American, think she has typos. She does include a fun glossary of some Australian slang and terms which also includes an explanation of spelling differences. With Sixty, Sassy and Sleuthing we are introduced to Calliope “Cally” Colt. I love this character. The older This review is for the Morgana Best story titled: Sixty, Sassy and Sleuthing. She does include a fun glossary of some Australian slang and terms which also includes an explanation of spelling differences. With Sixty, Sassy and Sleuthing we are introduced to Calliope “Cally” Colt. I love this character. The older sleuths in cozy mysteries are a lot of fun. They have a load of life experience and wisdom and they just don’t really care anymore about trying to fit in to anyone’s picture of who they should be. What fun and amazing role models they make! Cally, who runs a horse shelter in Australia, is doing work that no one expects a sixty year old to do. She is strong, capable, smart and funny. When one of the horses takes off during a storm, Cally finds him by a stream...and a dead body! With a new detective in town suspicious of her, Cally is going to have to use all her smarts to discover what really happened. I really love the back and forth between Cally and Detective Bronco. He keeps hinting about her family secret and Cally has no idea what it is. To find out what happened and if Cally has a secret, you will need to read the story. I love anthologies because they are filled with quick reads that can introduce you to new series and authors. I usually have a mix between authors I have read and a few new ones. Morgana Best is an author I am familiar with and have enjoyed. The series is new to me but I am excited to read more from it. Others in the anthology that I am familiar with are J.R. Rain, Annabel Chase, H. P. Mallory, Renee George and Nancy Warren. I am excited to read their stories along with the new to me authors.

Seasoned Magic A #PWF Anthology A group of #PWF - Paranormal Women’s Fiction - writers have got together to create an anthology of novellas and/or short novels within their own midlife magic worlds. It’s a great introduction to their writing and their particular worlds. It starts with Lucia Ashta ‘Smexy Shenanigans’ which is quite fun. There’s too many stories to cover each one, so I’ve picked a few if the hi-lights. A Nora Black novella by Renee George - ‘The Importance of Being Gilly’ is one of Seasoned Magic A #PWF Anthology A group of #PWF - Paranormal Women’s Fiction - writers have got together to create an anthology of novellas and/or short novels within their own midlife magic worlds. It’s a great introduction to their writing and their particular worlds. It starts with Lucia Ashta ‘Smexy Shenanigans’ which is quite fun. There’s too many stories to cover each one, so I’ve picked a few if the hi-lights. A Nora Black novella by Renee George - ‘The Importance of Being Gilly’ is one of my favourite as I like that series. In this novella BFF Gilly gets Nora involved in double dating with her two new dates to help her choose. She’s hoping Nora’s psychic smell-o-vision will identify any danger areas with the men. Of course in true Gilly and Nora fashion lots of things go wrong but it’s fun and a great moment for female friends bonding. I also liked Nancy Warren’s Crossing Lines A Vampire Book Club prequel in which Seattle witch Quinn Callahan takes a gamble and tries to use magic to save her ex husband who is dying. This story is the background events which lead her to settle in the Irish village on probation. Rebecca Reigner Widows’ Bay short ‘Rock of Mages’ is great fun another series I really like. Marzie Nowak is a reporter for Your U. P. News in Widow’s Bay and is a witch within a steadily growing coven, who helps promote their remote area, encouraging tourism. She’s at that time of life where the hot flashes are welcome in a town that’s cold eight months of the year. And the monsters in this town are real; it’s a haven for witches, shifters and vampires, with Marzie as the go-between for the mixed creatures. Louisa West’s You Look ‘Familiar’ features a vet and fighter Joey ‘Kanga’ Copeland who ends up in trouble after drinking with a main character. A Deader Shade of Paul Deborah Wilde Miriam has high hopes for a big date but she soon ends up hunting a possessed man with a grumpy, sexy French wolf shifter, Laurent. Even his name gives me tingles! She’s enjoying her date with nerdy Ben and had hoped to be possessed by him rather than seeing him possessed. Miri or Miriam is a Banim Shovavim and can fight evil and dybbuk - witches - with her magic and shadow weapons. One weapon is her actual shadow called Delilah. This one is great fun and I particularly liked Giulia the gargoyle and the new slant on these creatures that Wilde has used. I also like that the author imbues her world with Hebrew mythology. On the back of this one I read the first two books in the series after finishing this. I liked 90% of the stories which is a great score for anthologies, which can be hit or miss. It’s great seeing midlife women take control and be there heroes of their own story. Well worth buying.

First let me say all these authors are the best of the best. Second, these all are stories from Paranormal Women's fiction. What does that mean? It means that the main characters in these stories are over forty and kicking butt. You can't get any better then a women over forty that is ready to fight for what she wants. OH and has magic. She feels so bad about what happens that she spends the whole might looking for Hellcat. She enlist all of our favorite friends to help in this crazy chase. The fun in a high speed kinda chase is trying to stay calm and still get what you want. I laughed way to much at the panic Poppy stayed in and Wanda with no care in the world. You are going to love this short story. I am sure Hellcat will let us know how unhappy he is in the next few books. He is Hellcat for a reason. Poor Poppy better watch him for awhile. I have grabbed this book on KU so I can also read the other stories. I know I will enjoy them also.

This anthology was a wide mix of paranormal sort stories, novellas and prequels. But it does give me an idea of what new series I might be interested in and which ones to avoid! This anthology features Paranormal Mid-Life Women's Fiction books. So far, I've only read The Importance of Being Gilly by Renee George. 5 stars for this one. Gilly is one of Nora Black's besties. She is smart and sassy and stronger than she thinks. She's trying to get back into the dating scene after her divorce and she's a little nervous about making a mistake. She has two dates with two different guys and she wants Nora's nose to help her sniff out any hidden secrets her dates may have. This was a wonderful well written, magical story with well developed and hilarious characters. Wet by Plants by Annabel Chase is a short story in the Bloomin’ Psychic series. This story takes place between the events in Book 1 and 2 but can definitely be read as a stand alone story. Mia and Scarlett go to help their friend Patrick with a ghost at a historic house and gets more than she bargains for. This was a GREAT story which I really enjoyed. This series is so wonderful. Definitely check out the first book in the series, Petal to the Metal, I highly recommend it. Crossing the Lines by Nancy Warren is a Prequel Novella in the Vampire Book Club Series. I absolutely LOVE the Vampire Book Club series and in this prequel we learn more about witch Quinn Callahan and the story of vampire Lochlan Balfour and how Quinn became banished to the small town of Ballydehag, Ireland . This was so well written and the mystery was excellent. Kept me guessing the whole time. I loved learning more about Lochland and Quinn. I highly recommend The Vampire Book Club, its one of my favorites! Some Enchanted Reading by Shea MacLeod is a short story in the Season of Witch series. This was a great short story. Emerald who does readings in the bookstore has a very angry customer and next thing she knows all types of bad things are happening to her. Its up to new witch Juniper, aka JJ to find out what happened to Emerald before its too late. This is a great story, and I loved the mystery. I did not guess what was happening until it was revealed. This is a stand alone story but I highly recommend Lifestyles of the Witch and Famous, the first book in this series.

Sixty, sassy and sluething by Morgana Best features Cally Colt who rescues and re-homes horses. She seems to have a sixth sense or psychic connection to them. The horses in this story have the most fabulous names. Billy the Kid and Greta Garbo are just two of them. A murder occurs by drowning and Detective Rick Bronco, who is new to town, investigates. He really gives Cally a hard time. This story has gossip, affairs and murder. I really enjoyed this prequil and can't wait to read more. This one was a about time one for me because it mostly had a certain age group of women as main characters for each story. Magic is abundant and being at this age holds magic. This has several stories that can carry you along. Once you do go into these, there are some characters that are all that. Witches are just a example. Murder is in there also. You will see about dating with how that goes. That is just a taste of a few so settle back with this and gorge on all 12. Turn the pages for some ma This one was a about time one for me because it mostly had a certain age group of women as main characters for each story. Enjoyed this and found new authors I like. I'm glad I read this. Thanks Lucia Santa for suggesting it. I really loved all the stories. I will definitely be looking into the other authors series. Some of you I knew, but not many. And paranormal women's fiction is my favorite new genre. I relate to it so much! I'm finding it hard to relate to the 20 year olds in urban fantasy or paranormal fantasy. These stories are great and I highly recommend you read them. Review is Morgana Best Callie has to deal with a horse that keeps getting lose of his confines. She finds a dead body and calls the authorities. Callie realizes that she has to figure out on her own or she could be the going down for it. Callie makes a discovery about herself and finds the murderer. This was such a fun, interesting story. Callie and the others are great characters. I hope that the author creates a series for these characters. This was story was really enjoyable.

I'm going to read all of the stories in this book, but as of now I've read Gilly's story, "The Importance Of Being Gilly" by Renee George. I love this whole series and this novella is an excellent edition to the story. If kept me hooked from the first page. It also left me looking forward to the next book in the series. I love the midlife crisis books because they give us "women of a certain age" heroines that we can relate to. My review is for the Black Cat Cocktail Club by HP Mallory and JR Rain. This short falls perfectly in line with Poppy and Wanda's world. So if your a fan of these books, you will be delighted with this quirky short story. Poppy, Wanda and their friends are having a girls night filled with alcohol, cookies and of course magic when Hellcat gets into some trouble. This is a fun, quick book that will have the reader chasing their tails! My review is for the Black Cat Cocktail Club by HP Mallory and JR Rain. Yes!! Life doesn't end at 40!!! What an amazing group of stories from an equally amazing group of authors! I admit that these were the 1st time that I had read some of these authors and series, but it wont be the last. This was a perfect idea to spread the news at how fantastic this relatively new genre is. Life doesn't end after 40 and we would rather relate to the h in a book that think about how young she is and we can't do that anymore!!! Lol. Great book!!!!! Yes!! Life doesn't end at 40!!! Entertaining mix paranormal women’s fiction and supernatural cozy mystery style stories. This is an interesting and entertaining mix of paranormal women’s fiction and cozy mystery type stories by a number of authors. Most of them can be read a standalones but are parts of these different authors overall stories. All of them were entertaining and fun to read. Give it a whirl and check it out.

Sixty, Sassy and Sleuthing by Morgan’s Best: Cally finds her horse that escaped and comes across a dead body. Since she is a suspect in the murder she works hard to solve the murder and may find some interesting things about herself. I received an advance readers copy of this story and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Great book to find new series and authors I enjoyed all of the novellas. I also fell in love with a bunch of new characters and series that I purchased books from as I finished each novella. Like most anthologies, the stories from writers I’ve read before were the most enjoyable. Additionally, two were from authors new to me, delightful surprises that sent me scrambling to download firsts-in-series; a few were downright annoying, and the rest were fun reads. I really like this sub-genre and look forward to more writers crafting for it.

All my favorite authors! I loved this collection of seasoned women who are also magic! I was able to read some by favorite authors like, Morgana Best, Renee George, H.P. Mallory, just to name a few, plus I found some more that I will definitely be following. It was fun reading these short stories with characters that I already love. And now I have new characters to get to know!

Great Short Stories I read most of the stories in this anthology, and every one I read was wonderful. I particularly like Nancy Warren's prequel to her Vampire Book Club series. It answered a lot of my questions about how the heroine came to Ireland. And maybe why Lachlan Balour was so readily accepting of this stranger to his small town.
