From the very first chapter, the story pulled me in. Initially I was trying to figure out how the family in the RV, man driving and foster kid all tied together. As the story progressed, I found my answers. This is a story about a mysterious green light that mesmerizes people and ultimately causes their deaths. It's also a story about Nell, who grew up trying to deal with life as a foster child. Nell is different and the reader learns more about her and what makes her different. I hope they are in future books in this series. I received a free ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

Abes books always feel polished, and this one was no different. A bright green light people are drawn to. A foster child with a unique gift is immune to the light. Hux is a man with silver eyes tracking the light. Can the light be stopped? Intense page turner.

I didn't think the storyline was compelling, I didn't like any of the characters (and all of them felt the same) and the only thing I think I liked was the ending, which wasn't great, per sè, but it wasn't bad, either. if you like stories about aliens, or quick reads from the spooky genres maybe this is for you. but it definitely wasn't for me.

A cinematic, ethereal horror Into the Dread Void is officially my favourite horror novel of all time. This novel had the best elements of HP Lovecraft and Stephen King stories, while maintaining a wild, unruly originality. I could not peel my eyes away from the pages. We are also introduced to a teenage foster kid named Nell who seems to have found a great foster family. The family takes her on a camping trip to the family cabin and things go bad from there. We discover that Nel has the ability to calm people down with a touch, but she is also immune to the call of the green light, and she can break a person's trance if she touches them. This is certainly a page-turner. You can't help yourself getting attached to Nell, at first as she struggles with the life of a foster kid, then as she cautiously hopes this family might be the one, and then as she fights to save her new family from the evil that lives behind the light. The supernatural aspects of this book are less about the paranormal, and more about a scientifically plausible explanation, but nonetheless still dangerous and frightening. The book was well written, the main characters well developed. The story was compelling, enough so that I am looking forward to book number 2. This book was not a cliffhanger, but clearly, the story isn't finished. Great book.

Thanks to her unusual gift, and an unexpected ally, Nell ends up as the lone survivor of a fierce and gruesome battle. And then the unnatural murderer re-emerges deadlier than ever… Into the Dread Void is the first book in a chilling and imaginative new series by horror author Abe Moss. He combines the futility of human existence with a shocking cosmic revelation. Nell is such a great character with a troubled past, vividly depicted with all of her fears and emotions. Her internal experience of these horrible events makes this an awesomely creepy story! I received a preview copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing.

I was drawn into the book quickly by Nell, a teenage girl in the foster system. She seemed to have a special power when she touched someone, but unfortunately this did not really get explained much. She had just found a new foster home. In another chapter we are introduced to the glowing green light that is evil and draws people in, to their ultimate death. We also meet Hux, who seems to be a go-between between where the light is and his home. Abe Moss is setting the standard for this generation of horror literature. Into the Dread Void has a compelling story line with unique and relatable characters that you genuinely grow to care about as the story progresses. This particular story has elements of science fiction that keep you guessing, wondering what will happen next and what exactly is going on. This is my fourth Abe Moss book and I must say if you're new to his library, Into the Dread Void is an excellent book to start out with. Abe Moss' books always draw you in from the start, and this one is no exception. The characters are very likeable, and the story has the usual twists and turns and surprises that this author is very good in doing in all of his books. This is a little different in that there is also some sci fi feel to it mixed in with a dark horror, which he does a good job with. With this being a series, you end the book anxiously waiting for the next one. A quick and easy read, but lacking in style or substance. Although it’s marketed as cosmic horror, it gives lip service to the genre and instead provides a form of urban fantasy with sci-fi trappings. It didn’t help that the references to witches and potions felt more fitting than the tacked-on “forbidden knowledge” elements. It also felt like a pilot episode of a tv show, and despite the criticism I gave I’d call it a successful pilot. A MUST for your TBR list! Fast-paced! Riveting! Exciting! Addictive! Chilling! Not only is this a very well-written book with wonderfully-interesting characters, but the suspense builds at just the right pace as the story unfolds. It was an artful melding of twisted thrills and heart-pounding action that kept me hanging on every word the whole way! *I received a complimentary ARC of this book in order to read and provide a voluntary, unbiased and honest review, should I choose to do so.

Invasion of Malevolence Abe Moss has written another winner. A beautiful green light attracts people. It lures them to their deaths. Nell is very happy with her new foster parents - until they are killed by the dark entity who is fascinated by her. Unlike the others she does not fall prey to its attraction. She comes across Hux who is the only being who can fight this evil. This book was scary and a page turner.

    I. NEED. MORE! I don't really know what I expected going into this novel, but it blew me away with every page. That was great! I’m sorry it ended because now I want to know exactly what Nell is! I loved the horrifically green aliens and the silver man. I can’t wait to read more about this strange alien world! I thought it was just a horror story and I didn’t even read the blurb so I was really surprised by the ending. But Nell & Lisa hooked me right from the beginning!

Reads more like a prequel Interesting concepts here, but the second half got confused. It didn't seem to follow the regular format--fighting/vanquishing the antagonist. Instead, it was all setup for the next book, or more likely, rest of the series. Reads more like a prequel Interesting concepts here, but the second half got confused.
