Growing up in the foster system taught Clara how to be resilient. She learned how to adapt to all sorts of situations, but she wasn’t at all prepared for what life would throw at her. Alien abduction, painful experimentations, and the loss of her hearing are just the tip of the iceberg. Escaping her captors should have been the end of her worries, but Clara finds herself a prisoner once more when she’s taken by a terrifying beast in the forest. The alien she wakes up to is broody and distant, but it doesn’t take long for her to uncover the possessive, hungry male hidden within. The sacred vows he made as a child were supposed to last a lifetime. Being made a guardian means never taking a mate, so why does Zaheer’s guardian insist that this hideous little alien female belongs to them? Wanting her goes against everything the priests have taught him, but the harder he fights against the threads of their bond, the more tangled their web becomes. Zaheer has more important things to worry about than fighting a battle of wills with his guardian, but when one of his pack members goes missing, he must decide where his loyalties lie.

Unable to respond to the spoken world around her leaves her even more isolated when the ship she is on crashes. They are making their way through the jungle in an effort to survive when it all goes black. The next thing she knows she wakes to find herself with furred humanoid spider-ish creatures. She suspects that they can hear her "mind-speak" yet they do not respond to her. From one set of alien captors to another. Will these be any different? She truly hopes so as she feels a really strong pull towards one of them in particular. Zaheer cannot get his head around the scent he has found in the forest nor the outsiders who are currently traipsing through it. An accidental sighting of one of his kind prompts them to resort to drastic measures leading to the one with the scent and another female to be taken to their outpost. Something tells him that he cannot risk taking them to the temple and at the same time he seems to lose all reason around the one whose smell attracts him like no other. What is to be done with the one called Clara who can speak to him in his mind like his peopleand why does the idea of leaving her cleave him in two? I have to admit I cried over one of the happenings here. The writing pulls you in and you honestly feel like you have a connection to the characters.

Weaving Fate Weaving Fate was such a good book. It has been a while since I have been able to read and just do something of leisure and this book was such a delight to read! As someone who grew up in a household with deaf and hard of hearing family who used cochlear implants, I loved Clara's story. I thought her disability was handled well by the authors and I really appreciated them making an often "hidden" disability visible. Zaheer and Clara had their own personal journeys of self discovery to deal with on top of exploring their matehood. As a start to a new world within Octavia Kore's established universe, I think it is fantastic. I absolutely LOVED this book! You couldn’t help but love both main and side characters. For the parts of the planet they were on it was very well rounded. Zaheer and Clare’s relationship moved at a very good and believable pace, and left you with no doubt as to their feelings for each other. I’m really hoping (and super excited) for more books with these people

Another binge worthy read Having read other stories from Octavia Kore, I was not surprised by the amazing descriptions of the jungle, the individual personalities, and the rich storyline. The characters are believable and you won't want the story to end. If you are looking for a book that will titillate, amuse, enthrall, and leave you feeling good, this is it! Clara has had her struggles, and when Zaheer finds her, things may start looking up for her. The author did a fantastic job with inclusivity in this book. I loved how they incorporated the deaf community and made their struggles easier to understand for those who do not know. The plot was necessarily unique, since it was an alien romance, but the story telling is what really sells it.

The first book in the Guardians Of Inore series a story that held my interest until the end. Clara and Zaheer’s story of suspense, drama, twists, turns, evil, danger, a villain, and romance, it was well worth reading. I want to read more in this series. Loved It I truly loved this book and all of its characters. Sander was a refreshing twist on the Alphas that I usually come across in other books. And I loved Clara's strength. She wasn't weak, whiny, or the consumate heroine that needed to be saved by an Alpha. Their love was easily seen and understood. I'm definitely waiting for the next couple in this series. I gave this book a 5 star reviews because both of the authors did a fantastic job of continuing to bring their writing world alive. While you don’t have to read previous books in order to follow along in this book, it does set up the world that you are in. They clearly did research and spoke with people of the deaf community to make sure that their deaf heroine was properly represented. The heroine was more then what others perceived as her weakness. And even though she had to have been terrified to be be taken a second time, she was smart, resourceful and brave. The hero of this story had to balance the cultural norms that he had been taught against what his heart and instinct were telling him. He’s a true alpha because he tries to protect everyone in his pack and that he cares for. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster, especially towards the end of the book. I literally teared up. So if you are looking to read a book with a brave heroine, a caring, shape shifting canine-spider like hybrid hero in a magical forest with female shamans, crazy religious elders and an epic love story…this book is for you.

Plenty of Sci-Fi Romances have aliens that are basically just humans with a little different packaging; in this story, the aliens are truly alien, both in appearance and cultural/societal norms. I really enjoyed how Zaheer and Clara overcame these differences (though not without some serious missteps). Captivating and engrossing, this story took me on a journey and left me feeling very satisfied.

This book was disappointing. I don’t feel that the aliens were described in enough detail for me to really get a feel of what they looked like and I found the H and h’s physical chemistry unbelievable. I feel that they became sexual and intimate way too quickly, before they hadn’t even had a conversation or developed any kind of relationship so it was empty and meaningless and out of place. There’s no deeper thing other than this attraction that makes no sense tying them together. I don’t find their love for each other believable. Dnfed at 50%

spider hellhound alien Picturing our make lead was hard to imagine, but this love story was so good! The number of sacrifices made from the beginning to the end was well done. The fated instant love story is still a favorite.
