Who knew a bottle of scotch could cause so much trouble? When Brennan first sees Phoenix, he has no idea that she’s the new assistant that was hired for him. How could he? They were at a bar, he’d been drinking, and she was the prettiest girl there. He wanted to take her, so he did. But Brennan’s actions have repercussions when he walks into his office and there she is. Even at this point, Brennan can’t let Phoenix go, and although he’s trying to convince himself that he doesn’t need her… it’s ob Who knew a bottle of scotch could cause so much trouble? Okay, so I adore a good office romance, and this one checked all the boxes!!! Even though it was a short novella, it didn’t feel rushed at all. Brennan was super hot, and I loved how he could go from demanding and confident to sweet and concerned - at least, when it came to Nix. And Nix!!! I loved her, she was brilliantly sassy and completely unafraid to stand up for herself. The smut was well written, and I loved the dynamic between Brennan and Nix both in and outside the bedroom. I’m also super curious about Brennan’s brothers and can’t wait for them to get their own books!!! All in all, this is a short, steamy, and absolutely delicious must read. I completely recommend!!!

2.5⭐️ Trope: office romance The main characters don’t have a lot of development. The story is pretty predictable. Okay, but not great.

I read this after seeing it recommended, so maybe I went into it with higher expectations than I should have, but this book just missed all the marks for me. There was a lot of potential for a really interesting story - dominating billionaire boss meets sassy hot headed girl and their worlds collide in a burst of fireworks. I was excited- but it all fell flat. There was no actual mention of Brennan being Swedish until the end. There were swedish words and hints at him being from somewhere else, I read this after seeing it recommended, so maybe I went into it with higher expectations than I should have, but this book just missed all the marks for me. I was excited- but it all fell flat. There was no actual mention of Brennan being Swedish until the end. There were swedish words and hints at him being from somewhere else, but they dont discuss his heritage. It felt like the author just googled some stuff and awkwardly stuck it in. No explination to the holidays or anything. It just didnt seem authentic to me. The characters didn't develop at all - either separately or together. I found myself forgetting who a lot of the side characters were, I definitely didnt keep up with the brothers, but again there wasn't much of us getting to know them - Nix doesnt even meet any of them until the last few pages of the book. I also found the frequent leaps in time to be quite jarring. Events were mentioned and then we never saw them (Brennans birthday for example) I didn't see these guys actually falling in love, I was just told that they did. No cute moments, no relationship building, no having to rely on or trust each other. There was barely even any communication. Even the smut fell short for me with no build up and it was always over very quickly, it didn't make sense that Nix was supposed to be this firecracker of a girl but then gave into Brennan so easily. I also didn't really see the whole dom/sub thing apart from her calling him sir. Again we were told they'd discussed limits etc but we didn't experience those conversations. When Brennan freaked out because he 'went too far' with her punishment, It didn't make sense to me at all. It was basically phone sex and he acted like he'd crossed a massive line and had to make it up to her. All in all this book had potential, it just didn't quite reach the mark for me. I wish I had more positives to discuss. I liked that the author tried to make the character unique with him being Swedish and including Swedish traditions - it just wasn't implicated in a way where I understood it. Like the mention of Swedish food was interesting, but it was only mentioned by name so I had no idea what it was. I also liked that the smut wasn't all behind bedroom doors - but again it usually came about very quickly and unrealistically and was more tell than show. I just didn't connect with these characters and only finished the book because I'm stubborn and hate DNFing.

Office romance I have to say, I was so impatient with Brennen. It took him way too long to realize what he needed to do to win Nix. They had a chemistry and connection that were amazing from the beginning. All in all this was a great office romance.

This book was absolutely fantastic! The perfect amount of smut and plot line!!! I really loved Brennan and Nix, their relationship made me so happy. Overall it was amazing and I loved every second I spent reading it.

Couldn't get into this one at all. The names of some of the characters are too weird (Kale). I can get behind some unusual names like Sage or Kai, but naming someone after a food is just too distracting and odd. Boring dialogue and nothing that draws me into the story. Ugh so hot! Loved the spice, loved the tension and dynamic between Brennan/Phoenix. Absolutely loved Brennan’s family and I can’t WAIT to meet all the brother’s one day. Just loved all of it!

Boy meets girl, has a steamy night with said girl, then finds out the next day that she’s his new assistant? Chef’s friggin kiss. Add in some hot Vikings, steamy public sex, and a broody, independent Dom who doesn’t want to admit how much he needs her? Take. My. Damn. Money. Can’t wait for the books about the other brothers!
