Please, please just let Joëlle Jones own this book!! The first couple issues written and drawn by Jones were so strong and compelling and I feel like the series has dropped off noticeably since creative duties have become more dispersed. Melo does an adequate job filling in but I hope there are some issues coming up that are all Jones. I could forgive the artistic inconsistencies more but these are also marred by editorial inconsistencies. I could forgive the artistic inconsistencies more but these are also marred by editorial inconsistencies. I felt this way about the last issue, too, but it feels like this issue tries to cover way too much narrative ground and is all the weaker for it. This is an interesting story — a tribe that has been marginalized and is now trying to claim its rightful spot but we get only the broadest strokes of the story without any of the nuances, details, and complexities needed for the reader to really understand the motivations of the characters’ actions. Instead, we get a huge blow-up between Hera and Yara without really understanding what’s at stake. I have a sneaking suspicion that A certain upcoming DC event is the reason why the story in this book has felt so rushed and hectic…

Hera's true colors come out and the spit and fire inside Yara explodes! I love how consistently this character has been written from the beginning thing all the way back to Future State. Very intrigued by that final panel. Hera's true colors come out and the spit and fire inside Yara explodes!
