After much success on Immortal Hulk, Ewing tries his hand at Venom. We also have Ram, another writer I've come to really like joining him to tackle Venom. On the flip side we have Dylan who has fused with Venom trying his best to live his school life out but of course, it is never that simple. A really fun and exciting way to begin the new run. While I think it feels a little disjointed at points the actual storyline is intriguing, lots of mystery, and solid art though I'll miss Ryan's art. But I am excited to see what else comes from this run from two strong writers.

Middle of the road. Has potential, but a lot of cosmic baggage.

So the new arc begins with Ewing and Ran V. This is listed as 42 pages but it felt longer. Anyway, after the events of King in Black, Eddie is now on a whole new level. He can control all symbiotes. He has been out in deep space trying to undo all the damage Knull did. Meanwhile on earth, Dylan has bonded with Venom all while trying to do the regular life stuff. While in deep space, Eddie gets a very ominous message and heads back home. This is where a lot of mystery starts to build up. I’m not So the new arc begins with Ewing and Ran V. I’m not even 100% sure what happened to Eddie at the end but it raises so many interesting questions that I definitely want answers to.

it was funny the symbiotes names were john, paul, george, and ringo. i think i like this one best out of the comics i bought for some reason. i had a fun story and it was new to me and it made more sense than the other comics in my opinion

I'm not a huge Venom fan, but I wanted to give this book a try based on the super strong writing pair of Al Ewing and Ram V. These are two of my favorite comix writers at the moment, and I couldn't pass up a collaboration. Even though I only a very superficial familiarity with the character, I can tell that the first issue demonstrates a lot of promise for both exploring interesting metaphysical ideas and delivering compelling character-driven drama. Even though I only a very superficial familiarity with the character, I can tell that the first issue demonstrates a lot of promise for both exploring interesting metaphysical ideas and delivering compelling character-driven drama. The sequence of Eddie traveling through time was rendered strange, and the closing few pages of Eddie coming to in a mysterious absurdist-Eden was a fantastic, gripping conclusion. As I'm also making my way through the Immortal Hulk trades, I'm getting spoiled by Joe Bennett's art and how perfectly it renders Ewing's ideas. Bryan Hitch's art in this book is good but not quite the stellar level of Bennett -- that may be an unfair comparison, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be comparing this run on Venom to Ewing's recently concluded run on the Hulk... What's not quite clicking in the first issue, though, is how the Eddie/Dylan stories work together. Right now, they feel a bit pasted together, two related stories that don't really build on each other. I can see the potential for both stories to really intertwine and become greater than the sum of the parts, but that hasn't happened here yet.

Honestly, I thought they were going to take a step back from Eddie and let Dylan be the central focus, at least for a bit. I'm not necessarily disappointed, and the story is interesting so far, but I have to wonder what could have come of letting Dylan take center stage and develop a bit more from the angry lonely kid we've been presented with. Ottimo inizio consigliato
