Girls, teenagers, and women let's set the record straight. Most Americans are familiar with the story of Paul Revere’s ride, just as they are with the stories of many famous men. But how many have heard of Sybil Ludington, the 16-year-old girl who rode 40 miles to warn American militiamen of a British attack? The answer is certainly not as many as those who know of Paul Reve Girls, teenagers, and women let's set the record straight. Most Americans are familiar with the story of Paul Revere’s ride, just as they are with the stories of many famous men. But how many have heard of Sybil Ludington, the 16-year-old girl who rode 40 miles to warn American militiamen of a British attack? The answer is certainly not as many as those who know of Paul Revere. By overlooking the equally impressive efforts of Sybil Ludington, we overlook the many contributions of impressive young women throughout history. The relative lack of women in our understanding of historical events reflects the long-standing views of women throughout history. Historians traditionally spent little time writing about women, and even less writing about girls or teenagers. It is time to tell the stories of girls and young women who performed great feats or made impressive contributions to the world around them. Fierce Girls and Feminism: Recognizing brave, inspirational young women throughout history, aims to set the record straight by: -Illuminating biographies of impressive young women, throughout history. -Explaining their significant contributions to society at large, while touching on feminist thought throughout history. -Illustrating the many areas in which young women have made their voices heard. -Providing examples of the lasting legacy of these young women, and detailing how their actions impact today. Fierce Girls gives readers a broad view of the many young women often left out of other historical records, and serves as a solid foundation from which readers can pursue their interest in any number of the figures covered. History can often be presented as a fixed and unchanging account of the past, but with these fresh and often underrepresented perspectives, you’ll learn there’s much more to historical narratives than you once thought. If you’re looking for inspirational figures, young female role models, or historical events told from unique perspectives, this is the book for you.

Liv Harmrick's book was an easy and engaging read about not only the historical ways in which women have been leaders and their contributions around the world that are often erased from history, but it also detailed the ways in which women, despite opposition, continue to make strides in the present world. I highly recommend "Fierce Girls and Feminism: Recognizing Brave, Inspirational Young Women Through History", it was a great read, truly inspirational, hopeful, and insightful.

Very good, simply written work regarding Feminism and Women. It focuses on young girls who have or are making strides in different ways. Some are familiar, but many are people I hadn't heard of before. I like how the references are included for further reading. Very good, simply written work regarding Feminism and Women.
