So I am going to wing it. Jess and Josh are very very different. She comes from a troubled background, best friends with one of the main players and has a strong dislike for our Cap, Josh. Josh meanwhile just wants to do the best he can for his family and his family, while battling his attraction to Jess (after first impressions went askew). But obviously fate is like - we're so going to pair them together. And I am like: do your magic. SO we then get an amazing book (because hello this is Elise Faber's novel) filled with good times, tough moments pulled through, sizzling chemistry, sweet romance, so damn cute and teary eyed confessions, hilarious shenanigans from the Gold Hockey gang, and of course soft moments from the characters themselves - cause fighting your own demons ain't easy. So yeah there ya go - one perfect pie called Josh and Jess's story. Hehe. Anyway, I definitely look forward to reading the next story - and yes I forgot the next couple - sorry, but I know they'll rock my socks off obviously. So until the next novel, hehe. Until the next read, -TMR

Jess' past has left her unable to trust, and she's a grudge holder, so when Josh wasn't exactly charming during their first meeting, she never bothered to look beyond it. But he's persistent, so persistent, and she's slowly opening up to the quiet guy who turns out to be a wonderful person. But with his insecurities and her demons, can this pair make a relationship work? Josh is probably my favorite guy in this series, even more so than Ethan from Caged. He's similar to Ethan actually, in that he's not the stereotypical athlete - cocky and swaggering, in fact, he's quite the opposite with insecurities, is quiet and unassuming, and I absolutely loved him for all of those things. He is extremely patient with Jess, another reason to love him, calmly waiting for her to let him in, and was rewarded when Jess finally gave him her all. The Gold Hockey series just keeps getting better, with stronger storylines and more developed characters. Josh and Jess are just such a great couple and just as great individually. Both have issues, which makes them even more relatable, and is one of the reasons why they work so perfectly together. Their chemistry is smoking hot, the feels are in abundance, and now I'm looking forward to more hockey players falling in love. ARC provided by Elle Woods PR for an honest review. Jess is dealing with her own issues and it’s going to take a lot of grovelling from Josh if he is going to make up for their first meeting but this man is determined, patient and willing to bide his time. So will Jess finally admit her feeling for the man pursuing her. One click to find find out. I loved watching Josh prove to Jess that he was worth taking a chance on, I love that this author is not afraid to show her characters demons as well as their passions but what really make this series special is the bonding, support and banter between the rest of the Gold team players. Looking forward to what’s coming next from the very talented Elise Faber.

Josh is the new captain of the San Francisco Gold and he is driven and successful. To his shock the woman who he has fallen for wants nothing to do with him, or does she? From the moment we first met Josh, I knew that his story would be something special. He is a man who can be depended on, a leader and a man I fell for quickly. Josh is determined to win Jess over and it was heart warming to watch it play out. Josh was patient and willing to give Jess the space and time she needed and I admired him for that. The camaraderie and support that the players give to one another added an additional layer to the story and it was great to catch with previous characters.

CAP is the sixth book in the Gold Hockey Season Two series but you can read it as a standalone. Jess and Josh have been fighting for three years, ever since Josh made a bad first impression. Although he's tried to make it right, Jess is not one to forgive and forget. Josh is a sweetheart, a natural caretaker. Jess is... difficult. She is lonely but pushes people away, hiding behind a mask. It was harder to like Jess even when I understood her history, I still didn't fully understand her actions. She did become nicer as the book progressed, which was a good thing for me. As with all the books in this series, you really do get a good feel on how much family means to the Gold team. Also, as an added bonus, you not only see Josh and Jess in action, but you also catch up with other couples and see what is happening in their lives. The epilogue leads nicely onto the next book, and I can't wait to learn Ben's story. Jayden's is pretty much clear from the information we've already been given, but I'm sure there will be some surprises in there. A great addition to the series that I enjoyed but didn't love as much as the others. Still a brilliant read though, so I definitely recommend you give it a go! ** same worded review will appear elsewhere ** * A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. * Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books!

From instant attraction to instant dislike. The push and pull of the heart is as frustrating as it is addictive. Faber makes sure to set off sparks with Josh and Jess. What ensues is breathtaking romance with heart stopping angst. Cap forces emotions to stand up and take notice.

Another great story in the Gold Hockey series from Elise Faber! Jess has struggled to make a life of her own, having had a bleak and harrowing childhood (and young adulthood). She loves her job as a video coach for the San Francisco Gold hockey team and enjoys the camaraderie she feels amongst her coworkers and the players…except for Josh Webb. To say her first introduction to him was a disaster (on his part) is an understatement. For three years, he’s been a thorn in her side…or has he? Josh, for all of his on-ice focus and concentration, has certainly noticed Jess. While he realizes he totally messed up their initial meeting, he’s tried to make amends over the past three years. He really does want a chance with Jess. But Jess has her own demons to fight, as well. For me, one of the most enjoyable aspects of this story is the way Josh is portrayed. He is a newer player to the Gold, not one of the “old guard”, but by no means a rookie. He feels like he’s caught in-between the established players and the rookies, and with that comes his own self-doubts. While he’s trying to help some of the rookies, he sees his coach watching him interact with them and is concerned he might be in trouble for what he’s doing, when, in fact, the coach and others are noticing how much of a leader Josh is and how well he would fit as the team captain. We all have self-doubt or insecurities about certain things, but to portray a professional athlete who has these same feelings is so refreshing! Especially when it’s the male main character, not the female (as is so often the case), who has those thoughts. Anyway…enjoyed this immensely and highly recommend!

The snark and sass is strong with Jess. At first I wasn’t sure I liked her because her interactions with Josh in the first portion of the book just seemed extra witchy and mean spirited. Just her luck, Josh is totally turned on an attracted by her fiery attitude and her constantly stepping up and pushing back at him. Three years of snark and ongoing fights lead to a lot of pent up sexual frustration for both of them that unleashes in an unexpected encounter in a supply closet. Once these two stop fighting and they both get out of their own cycle of mentally tearing themselves apart over the littlest thing, a really sweet relationship develops. I loved how determined Josh was to figure out what Jess needed and then give it to her, he really wanted to know Jess and not just settle for anything less. It’s a little sad to start hearing about the pending retirements of several of the core group of teammates, but it makes room for more new players to come in to find love! I love the Gold Hockey series and the true sense of family the players and their significant others have, and openly welcome new arrivals to join. The author has crafted some wonderful characters within this series and writes each book and storyline so it can be read as a standalone. Of course reading the books in order gives longtime readers an improved reading experience since we know the characters so well. This book is long (although I never felt like it dragged) and intense and I adored how everything unfolded between Jess and Josh. Jess had a crazy upbringing that had my heart hurting and her heart closed off. She felt like she had to put on a face for her friends to like and accept who she was, but I loved that Josh (and her friends) could see beyond the mask and pushed her to open up for healing and love. Josh was absolutely amazing for Jess, even though he had his own inner battles he had to fight through. He was patient and kind, trusting and constantly showing Jess that he was there for her, no matter what she was feeling or how she was acting. I loved that they worked on healing each other and could take the blinders off of each other’s eyes. I loved their chemistry, I loved their ups and downs, and I loved their connection! Fans of Helena Hunting’s Pucked and All In serieses; Natasha Madison’s hockey world, Teagan Hunter’s Carolina Comets, or Elise’s Breakers hockey will love the family-style Gold organization. Cap features newer player Josh, and Jess—who works with Dani in the video suite. Both of whom have been wounded by love and are therefore not certain how to take the open and welcoming environment that the Gold offers to all the players, those involved in the organization, and their families. Josh mistakenly offended Jess upon first meeting her, and has spent the past years trying to earn forgiveness and a chance with the prickly woman he can’t stop riling up. Their story is not quite enemies-to-lovers, but definitely has that vibe in addition to the close proximity/co-workers plotline. Add their friction, proximity, and the growing number of matchmakers in the Gold family, and the sparks fly in spectacular fashion, both when they fight and when they start getting along. A great read, and I can’t wait to see Josh’s sister Jordyn in the upcoming Covered! I will never get enough of this series—or the more loosely connected Breakers—and will always be excited to see more fabulous hockey romances from Elise Faber!

Jess has a past that has left her broken beyond repair or so she thinks. She was walls so high up that it seemed impossible to penetrate. But Josh saw her for what she really is and was not going to let her carry on down the path. His patience pays off and when they both face their fears and hang-ups, a whole new world opens up to them and when they finally let go of all the things that's keeping them stuck - magic happens. I think this might be my favorite book so far in the series. It was heartbreaking at times but with support and true love we get to see that anything is possible.

He is, however, a natural leader as he finally discovers when the team picks him for their captain. And addition to be a leader he also cares deeply about the people closest to him and that loyalty allows him to mend the relationship he has with his family. I really enjoyed these two characters together. Not only did they have a teasing banter going on, but they also had a natural pull towards one another and their chemistry was undeniable.

When Jess realizes that the "Gold family" won't let her suffer through this alone and that Josh will be there for her, the walls around her heart start to crumble and she can no longer keep Josh at arm's length, nor does she want to. Another wonderful HEA from the Gold Hockey team.

What a heart-breakingly wonderful story. I say heart breaking because Jess's past story is just sad. No one should be subjected to the kind of pain she was. But unfortunately it's out there. I truly liked Jess and Josh (all the J's!). They were perfect for each other. It took them 3 long years to get to this point but I don't think their story would have been as perfect if they had gotten together right away. They needed those years of bickering to find their happy place. Jess needed those years What a heart-breakingly wonderful story. I say heart breaking because Jess's past story is just sad. This is simply a wonderful love story with a bit of angst but nothing that you need to stress about. Another Gold happily-ever-after in the books. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review*

Each book in this series gets better than the last and I think this is my favorite so far. Josh and Jess appear to be opposites in every way, but they do have some things in common. He stole my heart, almost immediately, and I was really rooting for him to figure out a way to get her to let him in. Jess irritated me at first. She was a little to prickly and unforgiving, until her story was delivered in bits and pieces. These two really were perfect for each other. I loved these two together and can’t wait to see what happens with his sister and Ben in the next book. I highly recommend this book, as well as the series. I received an ARC and I am leaving my honest, voluntary review.

Cap is a fantastic read. I loved this from the very start. Josh is a sweet heart who steps up for the team and doesn't let his awkwardness with Jess stop him from anything. Jess is doing everything she can to move past her abusive life. She is a little closed off and doesn't like to let many in. She is independent with a reason. I cannot wait for more Gold Hockey to come. I'm so in love with thie book and series.

I can't believe this is book 15 in the Gold Hockey series. All books definitely read as standalones and surprisingly not one story has come across as repetitive - which Elise needs to be commended for. I really enjoyed Josh & Jess's story, on the surface it might come across as an enemies to lovers trope. And whilst I can get on board with that, as the story progresses it soon becomes apparent that this is not the case. Jess is very guarded, and for very good reason. Elise Faber is never one to shy away from complex characters. She is also not afraid to give characters issue that affect anyone. She is willing to show, that even though a character might be an NHL superstar they still have hang-ups. That even though a character has their dream job and a found family that steps up without fault, they still doubt their position in that family. Her stories are often driven by these characters, and not by the plot that surrounds them. Josh and Jess fit perfectly to Elise Faber is never one to shy away from complex characters. Her stories are often driven by these characters, and not by the plot that surrounds them. Josh and Jess fit perfectly together. However, Jess has baggage that she doesn't believe that Josh could be a good guy. Plus, he has a tendency to put his foot in his mouth when it comes to her. Josh was instantly attracted to Jess, but said foot entered mouth and he keeps repeating that action. The thing with these two characters, is that they bring each other strength where they feel they are weak. But that strength was always there, they just needed the right person to coax it out of them. Josh himself has hang-ups because of his family, but you need to read the story to find out just what the issues there are. I adore this Gold Family, and love that this group of people are ride or die, not questions asked for those that need it. Some of the old guard is moving out, and the new is moving in... this isn't a second generations story.... but rather a second line. Elise Faber writes an excellent hockey book that isn't overdone with the sport but rather focuses on the storyline. And you get that tease into the next book, and I can't wait!! Joshua started off on the wrong foot with Jess, he acted like an idiot, trying to hide the fact that he couldn't communicate with women, and especially not her. She was gorgeous. Really he's hiding loads of self doubt, he's worried he's not doing enough for the team, his contract is coming up for renewal but he really doesn't think he's doing enough to be kept on, and he doesn't want to be transferred out. Jess really likes Joshua but after her past she can't cope with men ordering her about.
