Only in comics could you have a bunch of grandmas fighting to the death on a deserted island. This was admittedly just a lot of set-up, but I’m still gonna check out the rest of this series. The premise is so ridiculous I just can’t not read it.

First off, love the Golden Girls quote on the back. I hope they all have one. So, this issue is having us meet the characters and teasing out the world. We know what is happening to these women, but we don't know anything of the history behind it or what the outside world is otherwise like. Overall I like the characters, its a very good crew. The art was very servicable, the characters are easy to tell apart (that's partly because they're actually diverse in size and shape and style). Finally, it's very apparent how similar this book is to KSD's Bitch Planet. Completely different settings, but based in similar ideologies. I am definitely left wanting to know more, about the world and these characters and their struggles.

I think I’ll like this series as it starts to explain some of the reasoning and lore. Cool concept though.

This was mostly set-up but it was interesting enough that I’ll keep reading. The dialogue is a little clunky but maybe that’s just because a lot had to be said in this first issue
