The DC Comics: 75th Anniversary Book is an outstanding collection of the venerable comic book publisher's most iconic and eye-catching comic book covers. Any comic book fan will love the information given about the company and the comic books as well as the oustanding reproductions of the comic book covers. Seeing the covers so large is a real treat and I thank my wonderful husband for such a fantastic gift! Great collection of covers throughout the 75 year history of DC Comics. Obviously it can't include everything since each cover gets a full page, but it's a fairly diverse group. The back of each page includes a write up on that cover and a couple related cover images. Some of the older entries are photocopied from slightly beat up issues, which just adds to the charm. four romance comic covers? huh? some issues were photoed from bent copies making them lookkinda tacky. Scalphunter instead of Jonah Hex? or even Bat Lash. lots of vertigo covers, a nice plus. no Jerry lewis or Bob Hope? the paper may be archival but it is unattractive. thirty dollars to much.

An enjoyable read with plenty of visual gems. Some covers are so iconic for the characters and DC comics that they deserve to be bigger. A very interesting history for some of the artists mentioned in the book.

I would have liked this book more, if it had more covers. Or if they had it in two volumes; one for DC and one for Vertigo. It felt like a book I've seen from DC a dozen times now.
